The Wine 10.6 development release is now available with the usual assortment of new features and bug fixes, to get more games and applications developed for Windows to work on Linux.

Highlights from this release:

  • New lexer in Command Processor.
  • PBKDF2 algorithm in Bcrypt.
  • More support for image metadata in WindowsCodecs.

Some bug fixes were also noted for Alan Wake, Blue Wish Resurrection Plus, Aura Kingdom, Star Trek Online, Eve Online, there's a fix for Unity games not firing "OnApplicationFocus/OnApplicationPause events", Astroneer, Ultrakill and more.

To preempt the inevitable question: I would expect at least the first testing build of Proton 10 based on Wine 10 to arrive next month, based on when Valve previously updated to a new major Proton version.

I had assumed that the inevitable question would be about ntsync. There have been bug fixes and this week a refactor that might help with maintenance in the future was proposed.

I'm particularly happy with the Unity fix: #56073 Some Unity games don't receive keyboard input when using virtual desktop

This release does indeed fix the keyboard issue I had with Narita Boy in Virtual Desktop.

In my case use a workaround using windowed mode in game for after this use alt+tab, after this try minimize windows and push space bar for select window and work in my case with various unity games

However like your said is annoying thing
