Thanks to wccftech (and our IRC for the link) I have learnt today that AMD's new processor design named Zen is shaping up very nicely.
Interstellar Marines was a seriously promising FPS game that would have single player, co-op play and online versus multiplayer. Sadly, they have had to let staff go and rely on interns right now as they seek more funding.
It's always a shame to hear about scammers, especially when it comes to indie developers and smaller stores. IndieGameStand has written a blog post about it and it doesn't paint a pretty picture.
I had the pleasure of speaking with another developer today about their Linux sales, and this time it was Lurler from AtomicTorch Studio.
After researching it properly, talking to friends and family who have given their support I have decided based on feedback to launch my own personal Patreon campaign to fund me and the GamingOnLinux website.
The latest Steam Hardware Survey is out, and as usual some websites are claiming the death of SteamOS. We are here with a better outlook. We also just recently crossed over 1900 Linux games on Steam!
It seems a bit of "human error" happened with the latest Humble Indie Bundle and Sunless Sea. Humble were accidentally selling "Lifetime Edition" keys which gives access to all future DLC when it was supposed to be normal keys.
Sad news, as Deep Silver originally confirmed to me Homefront: The Revolution was going to be a day-1 release, now they are saying when.
Not the best news, but not surprising either. A moderator on the Stardew Valley forum (so someone who would be in-the-know) has updated everyone to let us know it all depends on sales.
Gabe Newell from Valve was quite right to fear about the future when he starting talking up Linux, and now it looks like Microsoft will be trying to push their own store even more.
Stardew Valley from ConcernedApe and Chucklefish is a big hit right now, and it's possible it could come to Linux without enough of a push from Linux gamers.
It's question time again, don't you love it? This time I want to ask you a simple question "What game would you most like to see on Linux this year?"
Blimey, another month already? That's right here's the results of our latest Linux & SteamOS user survey.
Stainless Games have announced Carmageddon: Max Damage for consoles (PC comes later), but they still haven't put out promises left over from the Carmageddon: Reincarnation Kickstarter. Promises like a Linux version, a Mac version and others.
Haemimont Games have written up a pretty nice blog post about doing Early Access with Victor Vran, and it's a nice read for games and developers.
Ethan Lee, porter behind quite a few decent Linux titles recently did a talk at MAGFest and his slides can now be downloaded. UPDATED: We now have audio too.
SteamOS is the console OS from Valve to turn PCs into consoles, but with PC things you love such as the ability to mod and use PC software. But it puts them in an easy to use package with a controller on the TV and removes some hassle that operating systems like Windows, Mac, Ubuntu (or other Linux distributions with a desktop GUI) and FreeBSD includes.
Just a heads up, a new Dying Light patch is now available. Sadly it broke the game for me on my main Ubuntu install
While AMD may not have a Linux driver ready for Vulkan, they are still getting me excited about it with their blog posts.
ESSENCE is a surreal first-person exploration adventure which had me mesmerized when I first saw it on Kickstarter last year. It's back on the crowdfunding platform with a prototype, and there are also a few other campaigns there worth a look.
