The Discord client is available for Mac OSX, PC and Linux. Where's Windows?

Hm. I wouldn't recommend Telegram to privacy concerned. Its server isn't FOSS.

May be there should be some presence on diaspora*? https://diasporafoundation.org

Also, in addition to IRC it's good to have an XMPP chat room.

I didn't realize the irc room existed. God, I miss the old days. Lived in IRC from '98-'01.

IRC is quite actively used by a lot of FOSS projects. Which is kind of surprising, since I find XMPP to be better in many aspects.

I'm fairly new to Linux and still learning the ropes. Never used IRC. Can someone recommend a good client and why?

I've tried Empathy on Linux but not much else. Used mIRC in my old Windows days.
