It has been a year and a half since the first question was asked on steam. There are 29 pages of requests.
There were SteamDB updates and a comment that the devs were waiting for Source 2 keys to be released. Given their presence on reddit and their own forums, leaving Linux users in the cold for such a long time without an updated answer is not a way to win any future friends for their games on Linux/SteamOS.
Im sure im not alone in wanting an update :)
