p.s. if someone interested in controller support - use x360ce_x64 (google it)

I'm always interested in controller support, but can't get x360ce_x64 to work. I installed all the needed packages, but always get error-message on start. So i can't create the needed xinput-files. At the moment, i'm using qjoypad. That's better than nothing, but it's not perfect. Cause the analog-sticks for moving are not analogue, but digital.

I got the problem, that some enemies are invisible; f.e. the sirens in Skellige. I can only see their name and statusbar. Can someone confirm this?

File a Wine bug please.

Installed the game using Wine-staging 2.16, played without a problem all the first part, then moved to Velen and this bug happened.

Now I want to cry because I can't play anymore. :'(

yes, it is very annoying and the reason why I'm not playing it further. I'm waiting for Mesa developers to fix this. See also: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101731

need add this patch to source(wine+staging): https://dev.wine-staging.com/patches/186/
howto: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=34698#notes
or wait to next relese wine staging.
csmt 1 no need to wine-staging, use winecfg

Thanks for the pointer, I didn't know that patch was added. I updated the howto.

The main goal is still performance...

Crashing game can perform well... until it's crashing. This Velen crash is really nasty.

Any news regarding the missing textures bug? There are a few areas around wells or underground entrances that have invisible textures.

How do you get those stats to display in Linux games? Is there an option in wine?

It seems to only work on uubuntu.

I found some other methods that I'll be testing soon including the "WINEDEBUG=fps" method and the steam overlay lib https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/2z36kq/recommend_the_tool_to_display_the_fps_on_linux/cpfim16/

It seems to only work on uubuntu.

Since you are using Mesa, you can use GALLIUM_HUD.

Run GALLIUM_HUD=help glxgears for detailed help.

Here is a simple example you can use (matching your Ryzen 1600, assuming you enabled SMT):

GALLIUM_HUD='.dfps:120,cpu+GPU-load:100,cpu0+cpu1+cpu2+cpu3+cpu4+cpu5+cpu6+cpu7+cpu8+cpu9+cpu10+cpu11:100' ./some_game

I also never got x360ce running but since I compile everything on my own anyway I decided to add this "patch" from Github and everything worked out of the box. In the meantime I played Witcher 3 with controller for a few houser with just one problem: My system thinks that I'm doing nothing and is turning of the screen after a while (Just disabled that in the controll-center).
