$ sudo apt search libmono-cil

If you need to install specifically mono 2.0 then I believe you will have to muck about with chroot

Okay I found out here that I need to install (downgrade) mono to the version 3.12.1, but I can't find it for Debian 8.

I can't possibly say - but I would definitively make sure my back up was current before doing any such thing.
