Hey.
Need some advice GOL peeps.

I have an ASUS ROG 751J
I am not sure if it is worth keeping as a Linux gaming machine or if I am better off selling it and getting something more compatible with Linux.
I have a desktop but would like a Linux laptop that I can take with me.

So far I have had issues on this model with sound(audio in works as mic) and graphics (cant get nvidia to play with it , it always goes for the integrated intel).

Maybe I lack the expertise and/or patience to tweak this and it is a good machine to run Linux.

Any thoughts please ?

I've had a dell 7559 for a few years that runs arch great. gtx 960M, i7 6700hq, 1tb sshd,8gb ddr4 has an m.2 slot as well, I upgraded it to 16gb ram, 256gb m.2ssd and 1tb 7200rpm storage drive. has a single mic/headphone dual jack that works fine OOTB. I am able to run arch linux and windows dual boot on it with no issues.

How did you get around the dual GPU issue ?
Bumble bee ?
Did you blacklist the on board graphics ?

When I had my Gigabyte P35W v2 (i7-4710HQ, GTX 870M), I was using nvidia-prime with the prime-indicator on Ubuntu.
I had to logout and login again, when switching GPUs, but realized that the nVidia GPU is throttling pretty well, so I kept the nVidia GPU selected.

Now I have a ASUS ROG GL502VS-FY042T. Due to G-Sync, the internal Intel GPU is disabled.

I read a bit on nividia-prime.
I could give it a go , but my lazy nature is telling me to ditch the thing and get something more easy to setup.

Did you have any issue on your ROG with the sound ports ? My MIC only works on the IN line instead of the MIC port.
