Creating a VR game with Croteam's Fusion Engine?
slaapliedje Oct 25, 2017
I was looking at the Vive subreddit and someone (for the billionth time) brought up the question about Dungeon Crawlers in VR. So I got to thinking... I know with Unity and with Unreal Engine 4 there is both a 'VR' button and a 'Linux' button. But while that may or may not work, I know SteamVR requires Vulkan on Linux, and I think the only game engine out right now that hits all those check marks is the Fusion Engine that Serious Sam / Talos Principle is written in.

I don't think it'a a free engine to develop in, but wouldn't it be epic to develop a Dungeon Master (The first Dungeon Crawler of them all!) in VR? On Linux? In Vulkan?

Not that I'm great at such things, but it'd be SO awesome!

Started downloading the Unreal 4 Engine, since it's free. Wow, Github is slow... maybe by tomorrow I'll have it.

The Doom3 engine source ports also have pretty good VR support. I guess one can get these to run under Linux as well.
