Looking Glass

Hi everyone,

(Not native Linux gaming, but I did not know where else to put this.)

just found out about this: https://looking-glass.hostfission.com/

From the web side:
QuoteWhat is Looking Glass
Looking Glass is an open source application that allows the use of a KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) configured for VGA PCI Pass-through without an attached physical monitor, keyboard or mouse. This is the final step required to move away from dual booting with other operating systems for legacy programs that require high performance graphics.
According to this video, there is only one frame latency: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okMGtwfiXMo

I have not test this my self, I only have an old Windows XP somewhere.
But maybe someone else might be interested.

The interesting part from the development point is the extreme fast memory copy modern PC systems are capable off.

It is awesome for VDI. Haven't tried it yet but even does VM to VM so you can run your primary desktop in a VM now too.
