Quoting: n30p1r4t3I love Ubuntu, but hate mint. Cinnamon is not "modern" in my opinion, and you can't deny that Unity looks beautiful.

Well, actually I can. Not that I personally like Cinnamon that much either, but...

Personally for me I don't care what is Modern, I care about what works. Hell I may even go back to using MATE since it worked perfectly for me before it was forked into MATE.

Quoting: ZosXaosUnity is just so slow to respond, and it feels "heavy".

Unity flies on my rig. Then again it's a very powerful system.

The first Linux game I bought was Neverwinter Nights Diamond in July 2008, and I still play the Linux client; the first Linux game I played was Warzone 2100 in June 2008, and I still play it. The last Linux game I bought was Surgeon Simulator. The next Linux game I'm buying (already preordered) is Dominions 4. the latest iteration of the best turn-based strategy game I have ever played.

None that I can think off. I don´t mind paying for games, as long as the price isn´t too high.
