Arch Linux fix for the Paradox Launcher incoming
Liam Dawe Dec 16, 2020
So recently libcairo updated with a Meson build system, which seemed to break the Paradox Launcher on Arch. This meant that basically all Paradox titles were broken (Stellaris, Crusader Kings III, Prison Architect and so on).

It worked with the steam-native thing, but not everyone knows that's a thing and being broken by default isn't good.

I reported it in these related issues:

https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-runtime/issues/330

https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-runtime/issues/331

Other titles like APICO noted above were affected too, and probably multiple others.

Which led to this:

https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/cairo/cairo/-/issues/442

In less than 24 hours since the report, they commited a fix and so it will be coming to Arch updates soon so that it will all work out the box again. Gosh, I love FOSS.

This is fixed as of the latest Arch updates, looks like it affected anything needing some form of chromium / electron so it probably broke quite a lot.
