(I'd like a desktop, but limited desk space and I like moving the computer around the house from time to time. I could go for those little tower ones but with how limited they are might as well get a laptop)
I've got my eyes on the Dell G15 A0500, the one with a Ryzen 5 5600H, RTX 3050 4GB (8GB RAM and 512GB SSD but these things I can change so not that important). Specs wise I'm fine, my main question is with Linux compatibility, so I'd like try getting some opinions by people who use this model or a similar one.
Searching around I've found some very few reports on 'it' (G15s or close sepc Dells but not exactly this), mainly someone saying it had a problem with the backlight, and some other people saying it had problems with external displays and audio, but I'm not sure if they apply to this one, or if they do have already been fixed by now.
I've seen a G15 that comes with Linux out of the box (indicating it a least works well), but that was only i5-10500H and GTX 1650
So, for people who used it, is it good with Linux? if not, or if you have another recommendation, what would a good option be? I want something that can do newer ish games at least on medium and maybe VR on low, my estimate budget being around 1000 USD at most.
