Dungeons & Dragons Online launcher problems

The DDO launcher is stuck at "Installing Pre-Reqs". This is a problem that also seem to persist for some Windows users, rarely with a guaranteed fix.

I have not seen it mentioned at the ProtonDB page for the game. Changing up the version of Proton does nothing. Veryfying files does nothing. Any ideas what to do?

Have you tried Proton-GE? As far as I know, the launcher is very similar to the LOTRO one, however for LOTRO I use Proton 6-3.8

I've never tried using GE at all since it is not baked directly into Steam.
