Quoting: PenglingPer a discussion that I had with itscalledreality in last week's thread, this pick was actually almost a different game entirely! Specifically, the much-maligned Bomberman: Act Zero. But despite my best efforts, it's currently a no-go due to emulation issues. I'll be keeping tabs on this one for the future, however, because I'm just crazy enough to want to be one of the few Bomberman fans who've actually played this spectacularly-poorly-selling game.

Yes! Keep at it. All the Bombermans must be played! Dang this doesn’t work yet. What does the log file indicate for an error? Same message?

Quoting: denyasisHello;

Tried Kenshi a bunch over the weekend.... It's an interesting game, reminds me a bit of Elite Dangerous in that the world is very broad, but not very deep. While the absolute freedom of the game is nice, it also means it has a lack of a gameplay loop, since the game dumps you with no real direction or objectives, it gets pretty boring quick unless you "discover" something fun to do.

Might try something else today, not sure. I've been in the mood for a simulation/builder, but RimWorld, Factorio, and Cities don't seem appealing to me right now.

As for right now, tv repair. My tv has horizontal, temporary distortions that the internets say is a slightly loose ZIF cable. I'll find out here in a few...

Edit: Not the ZIF cables' seating, so new Tcon board. It's either that or a new LCD panel and at that point, it would be easier to get a new TV.

You’re braver than me working on a TV.

I'm more a YouTube technician then anything, lol. Although my knowledge of electronics is non existent, I do like to tinker and since these things are all mass produced, most of the "repair" is just swapping out parts.

I also benefit from living in an old industrial city, so many people here have trades experience or education and there are still workshops and supply stores (although nothing like it's heyday 80-90 years ago). So there's a lot of uh... "culture knowledge" and "motivation" to try to fix things before tossing them.

Also, the board is 50$USD. If is not the board, it's the LCD screen, which is basically buying a new TV... That's expensive.... So my main motivation is that I'm cheap!!😜

Yes! Well, with a few exceptions for genres that I don't enjoy, since the series does occasionally stretch out into those, but Bomberman: Act Zero won't remain an exception.

I'm still chipping away at Bomberman 64: The Second Attack!, incidentally. It's a product of its time (there are sometimes unintuitive elements where sensible cues should be, because that was the done thing at the time in order to try to sell strategy-guides), but it's got a lot of really fun ideas, and an entertaining story to boot. If, in some strange universe, they were ever to make a Bomberman movie, this one plus the Super Bomberman R games (where Bomberman and his siblings operate as a combined family unit/hero team, which keeps things moving and provides much of the comedy) is what they ought to draw from.

Honestly, after seeing the issue that was filed on GitHub I didn't check, as I assumed that it's just an unsolved emulation problem right now! I'll have to take a look, after.
