Quoting: StoneColdSpiderWhat game design issues are there???...... I have not played much N64 over the years so I dont know what you talkin about Willis.....
Collectathons and other petty timewasting tasks spanning games with relatively few levels, sometimes with tight time-limits and very often with backtracking once you figure out obscure or outright counterintuitive conditions that you have to meet, that gate you off from seeing the ending unless you engage in a lot of pointless busy-work that the controls and camera simply don't lend themselves to, are my biggest gripes with the Nintendo 64's library, and that stuff was really common back then. I hated it then and I still hate it now.

They even cancelled a proper 2.5D Donkey Kong Country 4 and restarted development to change it into the game that would be released as Donkey Kong 64 because it sounds like it was cheaper to recycle a handful of environments and force collectathoning and backtracking to waste players' time, instead of designing a proper platformer like we'd've gotten during the 16-bit era.

We never got a proper new Donkey Kong Country game again, after that. There were some DKC-branded ones, developed by Retro Studios, and audaciously called things like "Donkey Kong Country Returns", but they played nothing like Donkey Kong Country, and were designed nothing like it either; They hinged on the idea that "LOOK! It's super-difficult JUST LIKE THE OLD DAYS! And that's retro-style hard!", but that was never true of the originals - the originals were tough-but-fair and would never randomly and cheaply throw one-hit-kill obstacles or enemies out of nowhere at the very last second right before you reach the exit, but the Retro-made titles do that quite a lot.

Quoting: StoneColdSpiderLooking forward to seeing future ones......
Hopefully I can come up with something good.

Quoting: StoneColdSpiderIm guessing Alucard is a fan of Jason Sulivan......... They both know the same sign language........
Hahahaha!

Quoting: StoneColdSpiderWhy yes....... It was based on this incident over a decade ago.......
I have a very long memory for racing incidents...... Good thing I do too..... Can use a lot of my knowledge in this series......
Unbelievable!

Quoting: StoneColdSpiderOh what???...... That Jill Sandwich line is perfection!!!!.......
This is the HD Remaster's version of that line.

Quoting: StoneColdSpiderYou really should play it...... The platforming sections in the clock tower are annoying but its like that in every game.... So yes its real authentic..........
Since you told me about that Jazz Jackrabbit mod on Steam Chat, I'm now having a much tougher time deciding which mod to play first!
