The spoils of Sweeney
As we all know Tim Sweeney is pretty Linux desktop Gaming opposed, but much like other corporate Behemoths like Google, Samsung, Intel, ARM, IBM, Valve, Apple and even Microsoft he does appreciate the right to compete on the turf of others and is willing to let open source benefit of that, so I thought lets look at it positively and make a list of things he and his companies did that benefited open source and Linux Gaming.
Altstore funding: the simplest one, Sweeney gets completely off of the ability to compete within Apple gaming and when thanks to EU legislation Altstore came on solid footing he put an Epic Grant in it, so it could buy off the last of its issues.

Litigation: Sweeney's legal doesn't sleep, they just sue. Apple and Google are his most common targets.
- His team is right now trying to force Google and Samsung to simplify sideloading.
- They're going to force Google to be nicer to sideloaders.

Unreal Engine behaves like a more (not truly) open alternative to Unity and has provided a great alternative platform to Unity.

Blender gets money from them.
They sponsor the open3d project.
they released an opensource xstudio port
