Forsaken was developed by Probe Entertainment a division of Acclaim Entertainment in 1995.

Similar to the Descent series but very unique in it's own right.

It is now actively maintained by a member of the multiplayer community under the original code name ProjectX.

The code base is a fork of the final patch release with various hidden features exposed, bug fixes, additions and reversing of unpopular changes that appeared in the patch (such as speed reduction).

In the latest branch it has been fully ported to cross platform libraries allowing it to play natively on Linux and Windows.

The platform is abstracted using SDL so it can with some extra work easily support any system that SDL can: Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, IPhone, the PSP, Syllable, Haiku/BeOS, OpenVMS, WebOS, MorphOS, AmigaOS, and AmigaOS 5
.

Looks to be the best free TRUE single player fps that I have seen.

:D

Re: Projectx (1 player fps)

Print screen key doesn't work in-game (is there any other way to take screenshots when a window has full focus). Game plays very nice though as soon as you get the controls redefined *HINT* Del key removes Alternative keys.

Right sussed the screenshot thing out you can set a screenshot timer on Gimp unfortunately you don't have much control over what you grab anyway heres some results.projectx1.png[/attachment:2344327x]project2.png[/attachment:2344327x]proj3.png[/attachment:2344327x]

Re: Projectx (1 player fps)

Just started playing this game. I have to say once you sort out some usable controls this game is very playable. Just got past Volcano level and have just started the abandoned mine. Really impressed :D
