From Glory To Goo is a new upcoming real-time strategy game from Stratagem Blue that has me a little excited, and so far the demo seems to work quite well on Linux. Specifically, you'll need GE-Proton, because otherwise the tutorial videos don't work.

I'm a huge sucker for these types of RTS games! You start off on a random world with nothing but your starting building that drops down from space, and then continue to expand across the map for resources. Eventually waves of little Goo enemies will appear, so you have to encase your base in walls and turrets to keep them at bay, while you build up an army to take the fight to the Goo directly.

While the UI could use a little work, the basics are all there and it seems like a great idea.

As you expand across the map you can find wreckage from previous planetary expeditions, native Aliens you can ally with or destroy and various other secrets. Not only that but there's plenty of feature additions outside of just the planetary building an exploration. There's an upgrade system where you need to send resources back up to your colony ship to eventually unlock more to build, there's different captains to pick with various buffs, multiple factions to choose with different units and buildings and more.

Definitely worth keeping an eye on and trying out the demo, which the developer keeps improving based on feedback from various players.

The developer plans to launch into Early Access sometime early this year.

Check out the demo on Steam.

Hmmm... Factorio meets Starcraft?
Looks like fun. I like the way the streams of goo-aliens look so relentless. Well, no goo, no glory!

Hmmm... Factorio meets Starcraft?

So... The Riftbreaker?

Reminds me more of what Industrial Annihilation is looking to do.
