Another update to Proton Experimental landed today, June 20th, from Valve bringing some game fixes across desktop Linux and Steam Deck.

Noted to be now playable as of this update:

  • Unity of Command II.

Regressions fixed from the Proton 9.0 release:

  • Battlefield 1 is no longer failing to launch with Nvidia GPUs.

Other bug fixes:

  • Fixed FINAL FANTASY XII THE ZODIAC AGE displaying white screen on launch on Steam Deck OLED.
  • Fixed microphone not working with Helldivers 2 after a recent game update.
  • Fixed License Agreement not displaying correctly in Romance of the Three Kingdoms [JP].
  • Fixed Antenna, A Raven Monologue, YUT YUT freezing on OLED Decks.

Improvements:

  • Improved loading time of Arcanum.
  • Updated dxvk-nvapi to help with Ghost of Tsushima performance on 4000 series Nvidia GPUs.

Would be nice if Valve sorted Ghost of Tsushima multiplayer out with Sony. Seems like a proton issue, since there's no word on it being an anticheat issue as far as I'm aware.

It's actually a PSN and PS Overlay issue from my understanding sadly, and I don't see Sony puting in the effort to fix their PS Overlay on Linux anytime soon. 😭

I understand this, but what I was saying is, if it's not hooking into the kernel like an anticheat, what exactly is stopping a fix? Nobody's mentioned what the actual issue is with PSN and PS Overlay, and if it's not hooking into your kernel, surely it is an issue that can be addressed with specific dependency management/fixes on proton's end, right?
