Wine 9.12 has landed bringing the latest development work into a new release for the Windows compatibility layer, part of what makes up Steam Play Proton.

Here's the main changes:

  • Initial support for user32 data structures in shared memory.
  • Mono engine updated to version 9.2.0.
  • Rewrite of the CMD.EXE engine.
  • Fixed handling of async I/O status in new WoW64 mode.
  • Various bug fixes.

And the changes from Wine Mono 9.2.0:

For bugs fixed they noted fixes for games like Death to Spies, Assassin's Creed III, Sudden Strike 3, Assassin's Creed & Assassin's Creed: Revelations and a few other miscellaneous fixes.

I don't know how you have the patience and time to keep doing this, but I appreciate you trying things out, summarizing what you tried, and the actual progress on the bleeding edge cases for Wine.

I don't really get all the details, but it's nice to see progress and it's nice to see users actually testing the experimental stuff.

The praise may be invalidated coming from my mouth, but I feel you are a staple of GoL.
Keep doing what you do!
