Something for the weekend: you can now try out a brand new demo of Warside, a game very much inspired by the classic Advance Wars and it does look good. Playing it a little bit close to their inspiration though.

From developer LAVABIRD and publisher First Break Labs, the game is preparing to launch sometime in Q2 / Spring 2025.

The new demo has a five-mission mini-campaign featuring new air units playable for the first time, including jets, bombers, and helicopters. Plus there's new not seen before battle powers like an EMP Blast which disables vehicles in an area, an Orbital Strike to rain energy beams from the sky and Rage that forces enemy units to attack each other. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Highlights:

  • Challenge friends and foes with multiplayer battles. Local and internet play are supported.
  • Design your own maps with the built-in mission editor for both single and multiplayer.

It has Native Linux support.
