Adventures of a Cat in Space is an upcoming musical adventure starring Arthur Darvill

Adventures of a Cat in Space sounds like an exciting one to keep on your radar. An upcoming musical point and click adventure game starring Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who, Broadchurch, Legends of Tomorrow and more).

Commissioned by The Space, Adventures Of A Cat In Space is a collaboration between family music specialists Little Seeds Music, and narrative game developers Tall Story Games (Heir of the Dog, Lucy Dreaming). Players take on the role of a cat stranded in space after an unexpected mishap. To make their way back to Earth, they must explore a vast and colourful array of planets, solve puzzles, and unlock songs that will help guide them home. They are aided in their quest by the ship’s computer, voiced by Olivier award winning actor and musician Arthur Darvill, who also performs the game's main theme song.

From the press release: Adventures Of A Cat In Space has been commissioned and funded by The Space, who were established in 2013 to fund the creation of new digital cultural content and provide free training, mentoring and online resources for organisations, artists and creative practitioners. Harmeet Chagger-Khan, Head of Digital Innovation for The Space says: “Adventures of a Cat in Space is a charming and funny, interactive game filled with catchy tunes that you’ll be singing for days. The Space is delighted to support the project which sees Little Seeds venture from traditional music and storytelling into the gaming world to excite and engage younger audiences and families in new ways."

A demo will be released on 24th February 2025, ready for Steam Next Fest and it will have Native Linux support. The developer sent me over an early demo key, and the theme song is already firmly stuck in my head. This is going to be a good one, nice and family friendly too.
