After being in Beta since December 2024, Valve have now released SteamOS 3.6.21 as stable for Steam Deck bringing in some bug and security fixes.

Here's all that's changed:

  • Fixed a rendering issue with characters' eyes in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
  • Added support for the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless Controller.
  • Fixed Linux kernel CVE-2024-50089.
  • Fixed mpg123 CVE-2024-10573.
  • Fixed libarchive CVE-2024-20696.

Don't go expecting Steam Input to support the extra buttons on the top of the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless though, as they're done via 8BitDo software. Much like with the 8BitDo Ultimate 2.4G Controller, the back buttons cannot be changed either.

Personnally, I was using my Ultimate 2C with the dongle. For the Dolphin Emulator, it uses the same configurations that is used with my Steam Controllers' dongle, so I can use whichever I prefer without having to do any additional setup.

For my part, with the dongle, It was already working great. I guess this update makes Bluetooth support much better.
