Just when you think you've seen it all, along comes Cropdeck. Described by the developer as the "ultimate farming roguelite deckbuilder" and it really looks quite charming.

More about it: "Master farming in this roguelite deckbuilder! Clear obstacles, plant crops in optimal layouts and protect them from hazards. Use scarecrows with unique perks to supercharge your strategy, build a deck of unstoppable combos and thrive against all odds."

Going by the announcement trailer below, it looks like a nice chilled-out experience. This is why I love indie developers, they're always smashing ideas together in a blender and making something different. Check it out:

The developer mentioned in the announcement they plan to have full Steam Deck support too. And it appears it will have Native Linux support.

Feature Highlight:

Plant, grow and harvest!

  • Clear obstacles and plow to prepare your land for planting.
  • Strategically plan your crop layout for maximum efficiency and yields.
  • Nurture your plants - water, fertilize, and shield them from harm.
  • Reap your harvest and turn a profit, but watch out - Sir Landlord might drop by for his tax!

Find the best combos!

  • Uncover a variety of unique scarecrows with powerful perks and passives to supercharge your farming.
  • Experiment with different scarecrow combinations and create the ultimate synergy.
  • Build your deck around their abilities or hunt for the perfect ones to complete your collection. The possibilities are endless!

Outsmart challenges!

  • Facing thunder, droughts, tornadoes or even ice cubes? There ain’t no rest for the farmer!
  • Brave diverse biomes and adapt to unique hazards in every scenario.
  • Protect your crops at all costs! Sir Landlord won’t wait - he’ll collect his tax rain or shine.

Craft your ideal deck!

  • Earn gems by completing levels and use them at the market to expand your card collection.
  • Take a risk with themed card packs or stick to safer picks from the seller’s inventory.
  • Got a card you don’t need or a scarecrow that’s not working for you? Remove them and keep your deck streamlined.
