There's a lot of different stands and protective cases for the Steam Deck, all with their own unique selling point and the Steam Deck Folio looks like another interesting option. Coming soon to Kickstarter, one of the designers involved emailed over details about it.

Compatible with the LCD and OLED Steam Deck it covers up and protects the screen, locks the sticks in place and can double up as a stand as well. It's really slim so it doesn't take up much room at all, which is great for space conscious travellers. It even fits inside Valve's travel case for that extra bit of protection and still fits into a dock while attached.

I did have a concern about the attachment system since it uses magnets, and we've seen big issues with magnets messing with the Steam Deck fans (and another) in the past. Remembering those issues, I spoke to their team about it and they said:

In regards to magnets, the Dbrand Project Killswitch placed powerful magnets very near to the central fan hub itself.

The magnets used in the Steam Deck Folio are positioned so as to not interfere with the fan.
We have performed practical testing and magnetic field strength analysis on Steam Decks with both Delta and Huaying fans without issue.

In addition we will continue to perform more testing as we move through the development process, if the Kickstarter is successful.

As someone who puts his deck in a backpack full of stuff, I feel a bit safer with the jsaux modcase, but it's a nice cover nevertheless.

Backed. This is a nice addon to the Deck. Just wondering if you keep it attached on the back, if it still doesn't block cooling. But having a stand this slim is really nice. And those slim stands are really rare. Back then I supported the "Tiny Tower Stand", which is not available anymore. Yet I'm still using it after 6 years it got released.
I hope for something long-lasting with the Folio as well.

This seems interesting to me! I'll follow it for sure. I hope it exists kickstarter and then I'll get it on the regular store.
