Some good industry news for you today. Moon Studios who made Ori and the Blind Forest, Ori and the Will of the Wisps and their current Early Access game No Rest for the Wicked have gone "fully independent".

The news was shared in their latest update video for No Rest for the Wicked where Gennadiy Korol, the Co-Founder and Director of Moon Studios said: "After months of negotiations, we reached an agreement to buy the publishing rights for No Rest for the Wicked back so that Moon Studios could become fully independent". Following that the Creative Director, Thomas Mahler, said: "We believe this will give you even more confidence in our vision, because we're free to build No Rest for the Wicked exactly how we want".

Just a small part of the below video where they talk about a huge update coming to the game on April 30th:

Good for them. Escaping the claws of big studios at least allows you to be in charge of your own destiny. It does not guarantee your survival forever, but at least when the parent company is going under, you are not going with them.

^ more importantly, you won't be closed down by someone else's decision and for someone else's mistakes.
