Fedora Linux 42 Beta and for macOS hardware Fedora Asahi Remix 42 Beta are both now available for some testing to help make another great Linux distribution release.
One exciting major addition here for Fedora Linux 42 is that the KDE Plasma desktop has now been promoted to "edition status", meaning you can consider it a flagship experience and that their support of the KDE Plasma desktop will be good.
Additionally they also now have a Fedora COSMIC spin, the new in-development Rust-based desktop environment from hardware vendor System76.
Another change for Fedora Linux 42 is the installer, which introduces a new "Web UI" as the default for Fedora Workstation (GNOME). They said "This means that users can enjoy a smooth installation experience, with features such as an installation progress indicator, built in help, configuration review and more. This new feature also includes Wizard which will allow users to skip what they don’t need during installation". On top of that it adds ina proper guided partition manager for easy installs.
More in the release announcement.
On the Fedora Asahi side it includes all the main improvements from Fedora Linux 42, plus a notable change of the integration of FEX in Fedora Linux which they say "provides an easier way to run x86 and x86-64 binaries out of the box via emulation".

From what I read from the Fedora KDE people, the change is more for visibilitiy for newcomers than anything else, since the 'flagship' experience and support has already been present and is the case for a while now, and I personally attest to that!

The new beta still seems to have Cantarell; though the fonts are already in the repos.
