With filming that's been going on and off for three years, Noclip are doing a 4-part documentary series on Dwarf Fortress. It was teased a few days ago with the first part going live on March 22nd.

Noclip always do some really interesting stuff like the mini Vampire Survivors documentary, the history of the game studio Arkane which included a cancelled Half-Life game and many more.

This latest one for the popular game Dwarf Fortress goes into detail on the people involved, how the game came to be, the community around it and more. It's a really interesting one to keep a note of for you next coffee break.

Those game or gamedev documentaries are great. The first I saw was "Indie Game: The Movie" and found it very inspirational, then the Minecraft documentary, the DotA 2 documentary "Free To Play" and several game jams documentaries. The Noclip channel on youtube is a good entry point for those kinds of documentaries.
Unfortuantely the Minecraft one seems gone? I can't find it on youtube anymore.

Danny O'Dwyer is cool. Liked him a lot at GameSpot and Noclip is great too.
