Steel Swarm: APOCALYPSE is an upcoming MOBA from Clay Token Game Studio, Inc. that might actually manage to pull in some players where others have failed, thanks to the vehicle combat and grand scale compared with other games.

Here it's 5 versus 5 but with two major differences. You control a special tank in twin-stick styled controls instead of a humanoid character, and you'll be battling through multiple lanes that have over 100 "minions" to blast through. They said it "combines traditional lane-based mechanics with a tactical warzone feel". Oh, and the map is destructible too. Buildings and walls can be destroyed to forge a new path between lanes, I think this sounds awesome.

They've announced their full support for the Steam Deck noting that they're "currently in the process of intense testing and optimization to ensure the game runs smoothly on handheld devices, both technically and in terms of gameplay". They're working on getting in Steam Deck Verified, with their demo build "currently running at around 60 FPS in internal tests" which is very promising.

On Reddit, they're also asking if people want a Native Linux version of it, otherwise it will run with Proton.

The trailer sold me pretty quickly. I just hope their monetisation of it is fair as it seems it will be free to play.
