Enter the Gungeon is a recent discovery that has me excited! It looks similar to Nuclear Throne in an over the top kind of way, and I love it.
Their official site notes that Linux will be a platform, and their publisher is the Linux-friendly Devolver Digital, so we are go!
It has nice visuals with some serious looking action, but we haven't seen a noted release date yet, apart from it being this year. One to keep on your radar folks!

Enter the Gungeon is a gunfight dungeon crawler following a band of misfits seeking to shoot, loot, dodge roll and table-flip their way to personal absolution by reaching the legendary Gungeon’s ultimate treasure: the gun that can kill the past. Select a hero and battle your way to the bottom of the Gungeon by surviving a challenging and evolving series of floors filled with the dangerously adorable Gundead and fearsome Gungeon bosses armed to the teeth.
