The big patch to Planetary Annihilation that I spoke about recently has been officially released. This makes the Linux client much more stable too.

Linux specific fixes:
Quote--Fix some cursor bugs that Linux users with specific graphics drivers have been experiencing
--Support opening browser from PA on Linux. It should now open the user's preferred browser (by relying on the `xdg-open' command.)
--Fix invisible CSG for Linux users when playing on PlayFab or on someone's Windows server, but not when playing offline. This should marginally reduce load times for all users.

Also, this is very useful:
Quote-Game should now crash with an explanatory error if the UI crashes, rather than just freezing.

Much nicer for tracking it down if/when it happens (hasn't happened for me in months).

This also brings the awesome feature of being able to resume anywhere from the "cronocam" feature. A feature that lets you scroll back in the game time to see what happened, so this makes it truly useful now.

If you had a bad experience with PA before, or you haven't picked it up yet now is a perfect time. I tested out a ranked 1v1 game just now, and it was great as usual!

See the full patch notes here. You should read them, there's a lot to this big update.

You can grab Planetary Annihilation on Steam, or get it super cheap in Bundle Stars Killer Bundle. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I was a Kickstarter backer, and I certainly have gotten more than my money's worth; this is still the current RTS champ, AFAIC.

Same here, 56 hours total for me now. We did some 2v2 matches from our IRC Chat last week, was fun.

If the game is bought from there will it be counted as a Linux sale?

Here is to hoping it's actually fixed and playable now. I bought this damn game more than a year ago when it was still in Early Access stage and for most of that year the game wasn't even playable on Linux. Didn't work at all at start, then they fixed it and it became playable, then shortly after regression came and it was unplayable, until now. Hopefully this time it's fixed for real.

Yup, I did. But, to be honest, I am running it on Fedora so it could be Fedora-only issues. Let's see if this update fixes those issues.

I did, but they never responded. I would've provided them with any info they needed.
