About the Game (Official description)
Inspired by the life of devoted writers Typoman takes you on a journey to explore the power of words in the everlasting battle between good and evil. You slip into the role of a character made of letters, struggling to make your way through a dark and hostile world. Despite your small stature you have a powerful gift: You can craft words which will have an effect on the environment. But you'll have to choose your words wisely - they can either be a blessing ...or a curse!

We tested the game thoroughly on Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS and latest SteamOS. We're not expecting any major bugs, but would appreciate your help in polishing the game before we release it in February!

Tough to be honest 'elevator pitch' needs a bit of work "Inspired by the life of devoted writers ..." was enough that I almost didn't bother watching the video, I'm glad I did as it looks like a well crafted and interesting game mechanic.

Agreed, at first I thought it was a typing game, but after watching the video it's actually a really cool/interesting 2d platformer.

It looks very interesting indeed, but I doubt non native speakers will get the most out of it. Some challenges seem to be done under time constraints and some words could be hard to grok. And I somehow doubt such a game can be seamlessly localized.
On the other hand, it offered a rare opportunity to use the word "grok" :)

In one video I watched I immediately saw the anagram for "down" while the reviewer had to think about it for a couple seconds. I think it would be a more accurate assessment to just say you need a certain level of proficiency with English, as with any word game.
Now localizing a game like this, that would be quite the challenge. Imagine the added difficulty of dealing with languages that use different alphabets, when even some of the environment relies on letters (for instance the spike traps made of A's), not to mention the protagonist's body.
