The Mesa fixes needed for Dying Light and Dead Island Definitive Edition are now in Mesa-git

I have finished the game in about 90%, from main plot I haven't finished only the last mission.
I haven't finished it because...
I don't have much time to play recently and whenever I start the Dying Light to finish last mission, the scenario is the same:
I start the mission and play it like any other mission. On the map there is a suggestion, that always points me to wrong place and I get mad and turn off the game...
However the game is golden and I can recommend it to everyone.

Cities: Skylines - Mass Transit released, probably the best expansion to the game yet

Most of the time I've seen them in real life, they were used as a shortcut from the hilltop to downtown, in cases where the hill's steep side was facing downtown, so road access had to circle around the hill.

Quoting: numasanQuoting: Purple Library GuyWell, I dunno about in the game, but in real life they can be handy in very hilly areas where roads have to meander and grades are too steep for rail.No doubt, I meant in the game :) Building on top of a steep hill or mountain still requires roads for services, but sure cable cars might be faster as in the real world. My initial feeling of them is just that it is rather niche and more for spicing up the look of the city.

Feral makes money by porting software and getting paid for it. Feral does not necessarily make money from a share of every sold unit. That depends on the contract. With F2P titles, they might get a flat amount of payment, or they might get a share of the in-game-revenue.
By Doc Angelo, 20 May 2017 at 1:42 pm UTC
Quoting: LeopardAlso it is a F2P title , so how can you expect to Feral make money on that?

I'd rather we didn't have drm. But Valve have made it possible for me to have enough games on Linux that I really can jump ship. Which bearing in mind the way Microsoft are going with hardware support and the virus malware situation, I'm incredibly happy about. And these guys need to make money.

The Feral guys also read those comments over here and usually do comment if they feel like that. I'm pretty sure after the release there might be some more information given to us.
As long as there's no cross platform multiplayer confirmed I'll ask Linux Gamers not to buy the game. Feral really should learn there lesson not to release multiplayer games like this.
If they could fix that issue I'll buy the game instantly at the Feral store and recommend people buying. I might consider buying it also for friends who are playing Multiplayer with me then. (:

I think there is trading and ship upgrades involved. I don't believe there is any structure building in the game, which makes me wonder if such a thing could be modded into it? I also don't believe you can land on planets or moons.

May I ask why you are phrasing it like this? Is there an indication that Feral chooses for themselves which games they port? I mean, they are like a translation studio: They add a language to an existing game, so to say. They can't just grab a game, translate it and sell it where they want.
Or do you mean that Feral has more contractual offers than they could handle and they are deliberately only picking ones with Steam DRM? That would be pretty cool, just because that would mean that the Linux market is so big, that Feral and Aspyr can't even handle all the requests. But I doubt that.

I could understand your points being made above: I see no point in developing a new game with the same problems again. What's wrong with them? I mean Sega as well as Feral should have some interest in having a cross platform multiplayer which will result, as said above, in more sales as well as a longer life span of the game.
Yes, there might have been an implementation of the multiplayer already when Feral got contracted, but still there should be ways and it couldn't be the idea of the publisher to lock out certain players from a bigger multiplayer player base.

Day of Infamy major update featuring Australia, also on sale with Insurgency bundled for free

- No destructible environment (BF3)
- No vehicular combat
- Smaller maps
- No health packs
- No infinite spawns
- Slower paced
I'm not going to say that Day of Infamy is a little less hectic or that it can be played a little more "tactical" as that really depends on the team. I've seen good and organized gameplay in Battlefield and Day of Infamy alike, just as I've seen really bad teams that act more like a bunch of headless chickens in both games. I think that really is true for any MP game. You just don't see that much bunny hopping in Day of Infamy 'cause if you get hit, you get hit. End of game.

Before Valve started supporting Linux I had exactly ONE game that worked in Linux, I now have nearly 800.
How many Feral ports are for games that have been available on GOG as Windows only games? If the answer is None you have your reason why Feral only offer Steam keys.

BTT: I hope Rockfish can release the Linux version of Everspace soon, and they'll also support VR on Linux when it hits.
The communication with the Linux community improved recently, before it was difficult to get informations about the progress on Linux. They planned to have a Linux build up for beta back then. That's particularly sad, as I'm even an alpha backer.
They were able to have the macOS build ready pretty early using Apple's Metal API, maybe it would all have gone better for Linux, if Vulkan was already released when they started working on Everspace.
Now Everspace seems to support three rendering paths: DX12, Metal and OpenGL.
But as I'm a patient person I'll keep asking for the progress and wait for the release ;)

Props to them for supporting as far back as 6000 series AMD (or was it still ATI at that time? ha). I would love to see how old hardware this game will run that is not officially supported. Maybe I can resurrect my dead youtube channel for some zombie hardware fun.
But before any such thing, the title would need to go DRM-free. I regret breaking my rule and buying TW:Warhammer only to find out it doesn't even have cross platfrom multi and now it is just cluttering up my library with nobody to play with.
You know where the money is at? Consoles. Windows. Maybe Feral should just ditch Mac/Linux niches and pursue the *real* markets like the rest of the industry?
I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what DRM is. We will always need to have a means of first acquiring the software. But once you have a copy of that game, what you do with it should not be dictated by phone-home mechanisms or prison warden "clients".
As soon as gaming becomes a self-sustaining market on Linux, I will be kicking Steam off of my machines. But until then, I must consider Valve an ally.

All right, let me try to be civilized in that matter.
When it comes to Linux gaming, everyone becomes an expert in an instant. I am well aware calculation differences between OS, it is expected especially if there are more than one team work on the project; Relic and Feral. I can easily forgive DoW2 and other older titles for not having "proper" cross platform multiplayer, but having a fresh release without cross platform multiplayer hurts a lot. I wonder, when exactly did Feral and Sega made the deal for DoW3? It must be during the game was under development, I hardly think otherwise. So, why didn't Feral request usage of cross-platform compliers and middleware? Having decently functioning cross platform multiplayer widens the lifespan of the title, makes more people to purchase the product; everybody wins. From this point I lost my faith in Feral's Sega ports. It is obvious that Feral cannot demand Linux friendly development environment from Sega even for upcoming titles. I better wait for summer sale to get DoW2 which at least has worth playing single player campaigns.
Lastly, installing Linux to my friends' computers in order to play with them? Sure, I would do that 6 years ago but not any longer; that's how you become "free of charge IT guy". No thanks.
Regards.

I totally understand you.
But for me GOG and the other stores are no option for me.
Let me explain...
I'm a Linux networkadmin and care alot about security... also private.
I don't do facebook, twitter, ebay, paypal, buy online with creditcard, use smartphones,...
You can find me at different bug-trackers of different opensource projects where I send patches or report bugs - "mesa" for example.
BUT STEAM/VALVE sell gift cards at my gas station - thats why I prefer Steam most.
Steam has enough money/manpower to do this.
So you see... different people/porters have different interests/goals.

Few things. I find exclusivity approach bad. Put yourself in that situation, and say you like when you are excluded. I.e. for instance when you as Linux user are ignored by Windows only release. Show me one person who thinks that exclusivity is something positive. Surprising thing is, Linux users should probably know this topic in and out already.
Second, I already told Feral about it, so I'm sure they know.

Dude , enough of that your GOG loving movements. No matter what we approach you ; you're still trying to blame Feral and somehow Valve itself. Drop it off.
