Yes, right -before- Max rolled back time. The two weeks she spent with Max got erased from history a moment later, remember? She died in the bathroom. She did NOT spend any time reconnecting to her old friend and never grew as a person. The entire game DIDN'T HAPPEN.

TW:S2 isn't really my sort of game, and as such I am very unlikely to pay full price for it. But getting it at a substantial reduction, sure, I can drop some cash and give a little support to a Linux porter.

Of course there's no guarantee, but at least we know that the developers are open to Linux ports and Feral has a connection to them. My guess is that Life is Strange sold well on Linux.
I'm optimistic on this one.
For reasons, not due to whishful thinking.

Yes, GOG can be very self-righteous (and generally pain in the you-know-where to deal with), sometimes refusing to publish games under ridiculous reasons ("The puzzles in you game are too difficult for our audience" or "Your game has too little gameplay" ). :(

Yes, "Developers" can solve problems. But Feral are Porting the release (not "developing it from scratch" ). They are not the ones who wrote the original multi-player Windows-specific code. If the original Developers change their Windows code to support libraries that allow multi-player to work cross-platform, then Linux and Windows can play together.
I imagine that Feral is looking into the possibility that the original Windows multi-player code can be re-written, so that cross-platform will work. But it is something entirely dependent on the original developers.

Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTGuys, obviously I know there're technically reasons for that. Still it's an attitude since the job of a developer is to solve problems. You got a problem that you need to solve by implementing it in code. I'm a dev myself and I know a few issues can be massive, but better have no port at all than a only partly functioning one.
I don't want to be separated from my friends regarding mjmtollaEr by devs because they decide cross platform multiplayer is not doable. Even though I prefer Linux at any time I don't want to force anyone to use a specific OS to play with me.

In the end DOW 3 is still in active developement so Feral should talk to them to fix things up. It's already a shame that the legacy games didn't fix but there's no excuse for a brand new game to spawn it with dead multiplayer on Linux.

I'd not be surprised it's the same reason as CoH2, for which they could not enable cross-platform multiplayer because of differences on floating point computation between the different platforms, which caused disconnections.

There are technical challenges with cross-platform multiplayer its certainly not a case of 'attitude'. For multiplayer to work across platforms and engines the game has to work the same way and at the same time, running different code on different platforms is a challenge for multiplayer.

It's not "attitude", there are legitimate reasons for it. Maybe you should fix your attitude.
You are correct that it is a turn-off for a lot of people, though. Myself, I'm generally not too into multiplayer anything, and would love to see bigger focus on games with strong single player or single player only.

Feral start working on VULKAN and create a vulkan wrapper or something which will help you for further porting jobs.
So we could get more games more faster.
and also cross-platform multiplayer is a must for this kind of games.

Hello! ^_^
So okay guys. I have a working Linux build ready. Problem? I have no means to check if its working and how its working. We did tested it on one fresh DEFAULT linux build but you know how it works with defaults - no one has a truly default build (which is the beauty of linux - being modular with powerful customization possibilities).
I'll make a separate thread on Steam and explain exacly how can you get your hands on linux build. Of course - I will provide a free copies for every tester (lol no - I won't be telling you to buy the game aka make you pay to test it XD).
Of course - you are free to talk openly about anything and everything. I am a huge enemy of feedback embargos and all that NDA (non-disclosure agreement) bullshit.
Just... don't drop the free keys on the internet, okay? Sorry for asking. Its just that.... Umm. 4 days before release on steam the game had been leaked on torrents by... one of the first reviewers/LetsPlayers.
