Seems the Linux version of Cossacks 3 is not a myth, as I now have access
By lovemytux, 17 May 2017 at 10:44 am UTC

Let's hope that all of these delays actually worth it.. It's a game that is indeed really close to the classic Age of Empires franchise, and I love this idea.. Release the game and let me feel young again (Age of Empires I was my first game on PC).

Ballistic Overkill updated as promised with Vulkan, but it's now completely broken (UPDATED with temp fix)

Seems a lot of people can, and a lot can't run it at the moment.
Darrn, I have time this evening and wanted to give it a try on my RX460 and GTX1050 graphics cards to see...

Fingers crossed I'm among the lucky ones. For the sniper bug - I usually play sniper, and since I'm bad at FPS games, it's a good thing they decided to help me :D.

I love these classic RTS games. Hopefully it has a good single-player campaign.

I will definitely get it as soon as it releases for Linux on GOG.

If it runs well and is a nice game to play I might still consider buying it. Will it have cross platform Multiplayer?

AMD Ryzen 9 'Threadripper' announced with up to 16 cores
By Eike, 17 May 2017 at 10:35 am UTC

Quoting: lucinosI don't remember that. I for many years now remember the physical limit be considered around 5 nm (and it is getting there now as it seems).

Some more years ago (beginning of the century?), the wave length of the lithography was supposed to be the lower limit of the structure size...

Quoting: lucinosIn any case 1nm is very near the atomic scale.

Yeah, we're running into limits (and already did).
10 GHz was predicted as well back then...

I'm confused there're just so few comments! Awesome news! I'm only writing by now since I had no time to check out Gaming on Linux for a while. Gonna download Mesa 17.1 on Arch and try a bunch of Games. (:

I do like the game! Anyone up for Multiplayer?

It's one of those very underestimated games. Sometimes I really don't get why some games are very well known while others aren't. I would also rate this one AAA.

Square Enix is selling Io-Interactive, developer of HITMAN

Exactly Io is just the studio they can technically get any studio to make it
Yes, that's possible. But most of the time the games made by a new studio are worse then the original one. If you really want to keep a franchise alive you're better of fixing your current developer studios. I could imagine they just drop it.

Ten years ago we thought that 23nm was the physical limit.

I don't remember that. I for many years now remember the physical limit be considered around 5 nm (and it is getting there now as it seems). Moore's Law also considered to be halted in 2010s. 7nm is really impressive but not too unrealistic. Intel had stopped at 14nm for a some time now and either intel wanted Amd to catch up or already is getting proportionally way more difficult. Of course now I believe we Moore's Law is near the end and will not be continued in 2020s as already have happened for many years now with frequencies. In any case 1nm is very near the atomic scale.

Quoting: Anders1232If I buy this game on linux to gift to someone that uses windows, will Feral get his slice? I already own the game.
In the past, one could buy games on Linux, keep them for at least 15 days so that they would be permanently recorded as Linux sales, then gift them to Windows users. That is no longer possible, however...

I bought it on release and played 9+ hours without any problems (on Debian Testing). Just tried it again and yeah, it doesn't seem to start (Arch Linux).

Works on SteamOS though.

The resolution issue is being researched.

Apparently, the games that will be added later will not be DRM-free (as the platform indicator shows). Or it is a mistake. No matter though, the value of currently offered games is high enough.

HIB always had this way of mixing the games I really like with the games I couldn't care about less (yes, I'm looking at you, Goat Simulator). Fortunately, you can now separate how much you are giving to each game and I'm also overdue for a charity donation anyway. I'll be buying the full bundle since I want Owlboy, although it's not a great sign for the game when it has much higher critic score than user score on Metacritic.
