Ballistic Overkill to get Vulkan support tomorrow and lots more
By Blodoffer, 16 May 2017 at 5:37 am UTC

Quoting: EhvisSolid 100 fps, so I personally don't need it. I hope it brings in more players though. If anyone want to trade skill for FPS, I'm all ears! :D

Vulkan may bring a hefty input lag boost regardless of your fps, so this is good news for everyone. ☺️

The developer of 'Inner Voices' will seriously consider a Linux version with enough interest

Quoting: InnerVoicesDevHow about this guys? I just created a google form just for you, regarding Linux port of Inner Voices.
"You can talk the talk - but can you walk the walk?" =)

Sorry, but have to reject the proposal. I will never buy a game from Steam™. :(
So, I will ignore the poll as both of the answers are unsatisfactory.

Quoting: psycho_driverHad absolutely zero interest in this game but I'll buy it when the vulkan renderer is working correctly.
Just because you want to experience a driver API?

This game supports all the graphical APIs. If it had a benchmark option I would buy it just to make comparations.

Quoting: salamanderrakeGlad I don't care about multiplayer with this game, but this is some bull shit, all the time its Linux and Mac multiplayer, no windows, thats what kills the chances in some games picking up on Mac and Linux, like with Arma3.
It's not bullshit. Different maths libraries make cross-platform multiplayer impossible because matches would quickly become out of sync. This will always be a problem for games that were built for Windows first and ported to Linux second. The only way around it is to use a cross-platform maths library, but Windows-only game houses don't think of that sort of thing and use whatever is built into Windows.

ESSENCE, a first-person non-violent exploration adventure arrives on Linux, Vulkan support possible in future
By Adam_eM, 15 May 2017 at 10:18 pm UTC

Damn, it looks like linux is starting to suck again in terms of gaming... I just bought it, and all I get is a black screen with a pointer (and game music in background). I know it says early access, but anyways... It's so frustrating. Worms W.M.D., Robocraft, Dirt Rally and a bit earlier, even the Rocket League stopped working properly... and now, the ESSENCE :(

Wow, one of the first games of new Unity engine to get Vulkan support! I'm incredibly excited to see performance boost (hopefully) and general behavior of Vulkan on Unity games. Also I'm so glad to see Vulkan getting pretty well adopted this year.

Quoting: gurvAnother Total War, I'll pass :S:
Would have preferred Rise of the Tomb Raider but I'm happy as long as Feral gets enough money.
Would also really like a good arcade racer (Need for Speed Rivals or Hot Pursuit (2010) for example) but I guess that's not possible since most of those games are from Linux unfriendly publishers.
MGS V would be nice too.

If you are after an Arcade Racer try Flatout 2 from gog it has a linux native version

Good, and note that original developers (porters?) completely ignored this issue. They could clarify all these questions a long time ago.

Quoting: Projectile VomitI would buy it, depending on my funds at the time.

These days, I can't promise anything.
If money would happen to be the main obstacle - I will remove that obstacle out of your way.
Quoting: natis1To the Inner Voices developers:

While I am probably not going to buy this game (I didn't vote in the poll or post in the steam thread for that reason), just because the genre isn't for me and I only have so much money to spend anyway, please know that I really appreciate how much you all seem to respect your community and if you all continue doing game development I will follow your work into the future.
Oh its alrighty. I'm not looking at you like at wallet with arms and legs =) Shame we don't have the Linux port ready already. I would just send you a free key - if money is the issue. I've been there. So no pity from my side. Only sympathy. I know money don't grow on trees.

And well. Wow. Thx Natis. I mean it. You know, there are many 'currencies' on this planet. And money is but one of many. You just 'paid' me with currency I consider to be of much, much higher value. Thank you for that. =)
Also, shame there's only that "heart"/like button for posts. I find it insufficient. I'd rather press a "love" button for that post of yours.
