This is a game I could totally love if it had more depth. Maybe Paradox picks up the idea and turns it into something awesom. They have games set in pretty much every imaginable period of human history, except present day. :D

Made to wade is Shadow Warrior 2 (just see how successes look on SW1) so the other one must be Shogun TW2. I'll buy it again to support Feral.

Pretty sure it's Shogun 2. Also pretty sure that "Made to Wade" is Shadow Warrior 2.

Already own Shogun 2, but I'll see if a) There's DLC I can still grab, and b) I can find some money between the couch pillows.

I've heard it's a bit shallow. One of the main reasons I haven't been interested in it even though it looks like my kind of game. No great loss, really, because my collection of Paradox titles has all the depth and complexity I could ever want in a game.

I would go Shogun 2 (already on OSX), if only because it currently has private beta repos on SteamDB as of about a week ago. No idea how long Feral usually has their private betas last, but, seems like its getting close. Also seems to be Japanese/Google Images says 'samurai penguin' which I think would further confirm this :)

What type of 4x is it? Low pace and long to progress (like in endless legend or Civ:beyond Earth...too slow and long for me)? Is it the kind of gameplay where you spend your time adjusting small and insignificant parameters to win or more big view?

I don't mind that there are PvP focused MMOs, people seem to like them well enough even if I don't find them engaging. But it seems like most MMOs for Linux are basically PvP sandboxes. Other than something like Ryzom (kinda dull, tbh) and Runescape (kinda clunky), there's not much to offset that.

I will definitely keep an eye on this as it will be the first 3D game akin to Dark Souls to hit Linux. We have received some 2D games akin to Dark Souls, but never 3D. If the big publishers won't deliver, then the independent developers will.
Valve have changed how gifting games works

There are two statistics of merit here:
1) The person who paid money for the game is running Linux.
2) The platform being used for playing the game.
The developer can gain both bits of information from Steam statistics generated by buying or playing the game.
On which note, I have a massive backlog of games, so the person buying is running Linux - and then there's no stats of anyone playing them (yet).

If there was no Windows version, the gifting wouldn't happen.

I finished it during the early access. It is quite cool, somewhere between Rick dangerous and Broforce. Some parts are really difficult (not for casual gamers...).
This game looks curiously similar (at least for the pixel arts).

At least on my system looks like an memory allocation issue, try using jemalloc instead of the default binnedmalloc. Not sure for others, but works for me.

Quoting: ageresIf a game I already own gets ported to Linux, I buy a copy and store it in my inventory. I cannot gift it immediately because I don't have any friends using Linux, so that would be counted as a Windows sale AFAIK. So, what should I do now?I have done this a few times i.e. bought games on Linux, kept them for at least 15 days so that they would be permanently recorded as Linux sales, then gifted them to Windows users. Now Valve took even that away. This basically means that I can no longer gift games to friends who use Windows.

I gave it ten minutes to see how it faired, and I guess it's a lot like the Souls games. Died three times, and that made it quite a lot more exciting than I thought it'd be. The controls do feel extremely slippery though and therefore you feel like your opponents get an edge just because your keyboard didn't work the way you meant to (to be fair, on the main steam page it says that a controller is recommended).
I'm excited for this one and will definitely keep my eyes open for updates.

PvP is exciting, but Albion's red areas mean full gear loss on death, which makes it extremely risky. It's pretty harsh. I'd okay more PvP if it was a percentage of your carried gold or similar. Or even a percentage of your overall wealth.
