I wonder how will this perform on Intel HD graphics. Not that I use my laptop much these days, but I've always wondered if I can squeeze a little more fps out of the i3-5005U processor.
Feral Interactive are teasing something, again
By Pinguino, 8 May 2017 at 7:32 pm UTC
TBH, they do like to troll us a little bit, and their teasers are rarely guessed this quickly, but I'm having a hard time seeing anything other than DoW 3.
By Pinguino, 8 May 2017 at 7:32 pm UTC
Quoting: manokaraMaybe it is actually Doom like some said, and Feral is doing a reverse psychology thing making a lot of people believe it's DoW... We'll never know.

Quoting: sigzThat is absolutely correct. The support for the existing hardware is superb though :)Quoting: CybolicThe software support is amazing! It works out of the box, but there's also semi-official software for it (official in that Roccat provided the developer, Stefan Achatz, with access to their hardware and some guidance as well as a license to use their files, but it's not developed by them).Stefan Achatz has stopped maintaining this project, he will not provide drivers for new hardware.

I bought this when it became available for linux BUT it never worked and no sign of help from team17.
I got a refund as well. If it was just linux related I would have persevered and found something gentoo specific BUT even windows users couldn't launch
if this "free mode" is available for all I will re-install to try to see if it works & if this mode works then ill get the game again. BUT if it is a bolt on for the present game... no indication it will work

The latest HITMAN Elusive Target is now live on Linux
By pb, 8 May 2017 at 6:06 pm UTC
True, it should be that way. I don't care for the suits, but I'd like to play all of the ET's just as normal missions. No save etc. is fine - like with escalations - just make them available...
By pb, 8 May 2017 at 6:06 pm UTC
Quoting: KimyrielleI still hope they will release the Elusive targets as a pack one day, so we can enjoy them whenever we want, as it should be.

Valve have changed how gifting games works

I get a lot of games for free from various sources and would like to donate VS getting another copy of the game.
By Mezron, 8 May 2017 at 4:57 pm UTC
Quoting: ripperQuoting: ageresIf a game I already own gets ported to Linux, I buy a copy and store it in my inventory. I cannot gift it immediately because I don't have any friends using Linux, so that would be counted as a Windows sale AFAIK. So, what should I do now?
Write the developers to put a donate button on their website. Or at least tell you where you can send them some extra "thank you" money. The usual reply "just buy another copy" won't work anymore. I honestly believe each developer should have such a button, because of sales and bundles. If they don't, they are losing money. I often want to pay some extra (but not necessarily a full price) as well.

Nostalgia is great and all, but to be perfectly blunt I remember Snarfquest, the old comic thingie, being kinda meh. Some fanservice, some muddled antiheroes, some mildly amusing "zany" situations, a bit more fanservice, and that's about it.

Maybe I'll try again on the next sale, who knows, might work now.

i have played it few times and it has been working great for me.. last time i played it was in march and it worked fine also then. Will test out if it works for me atm also as soon as possible.
the game was/is fun though, but it seems they made things a bit weird with their "balancing" patch and many people left, so theres hard to find good matches.

AFAIK this game was only not universally slated because in EA it was actually very promising, then the devs ignored the community and basically removed everything fun about it.. this happened some time ago, the situation did not get better.
Had it been released in the current state it would have been panned and received negative reviews across the board.
We want quality games on Linux, ones that draw in people from across platforms and when they do decided to install and run their favourite game it should a.) actually run & b.) run decently enough that it doesn't make Linux out to be a wonky cart vs a super car windows.
oh i forgot c.) the dev not take a massive dump on Linux users on twitter.

The dev's probably gone all petulant and sulky 'cause the new Battle-Royale-like kid on the block, Player Unknown's Battleground, is selling like gilded hotcakes. Consider: The Culling has received roughly 15,000 (mixed to mostly negative) reviews since it was released 14 months ago in March 2016, whereas Player Unknown's Battleground has received more than double the reviews (around 37,000, mostly positive) in around a sixth or seventh of the time. It's no excuse to leave the game broken for Linux owners, however. I shouldn't be surprised if The Culling became abandonware in the not too distant future.

I picked this up, because logo reminds me of blender.
the button next to blue light gives me ability to change between two modes with different speeds etc.. so that I use to toggle when I need to switch between precission and speed.

By pb, 8 May 2017 at 6:51 am UTC
Even if Season 2 won't be just a bunch of DLCs for the current game, it will at the very least be on the same engine, so yeah, should be day one probably. One would still hope that they re-enable the past elusive targets at some point, maybe only for those who didn't have a chance to try them yet - this way latecomers (including Linux players) could still enjoy them but the others wouldn't be given a second shot, as per design. As it is now, we are not able to unlock some of the suits, for example the ones requiring completion of 10 and 13 elusive targets, when Linux players will only have had access to six such contracts in total.

Quoting: DribbleondoIf my theory is correct, then Season 2 might be coming to Linux on Day 1. The way Hitman: No subtitle is designed is like a portal, with new stuff coming every now and again for ALL platforms. I would expect Season 2 to follow that logic, otherwise, you're leaving the Linux folks out in the cold.

I like that in a world dominated by digital distribution we still use the term "gone gold" when it's highly unlikely then that they produced a "gold" master cd for reproduction ;)
But then we still use a floppy disc for the "save" icon even though most PC users today properly never seen one.

Well that's not a very good news for Linux gamers. I've played Hitman since the Linux release and only had a chance to do three elusive targets (four with the current one), missing the previous 20. :-(
