I highly doubt that. We may see the AMDGPU-PRO driver making use of radv in future instead of their own implementation below AMDs AL in their driver. Same thing which goes on now with the DC/DAL patchset. It's more work involved there for the AMD devs, and AMD has been .. slightly pissed off not being able to do what ever they want for their hardware in the kernel, so we may still end up with two implementations in the end ;-).

This would make the most sense, I could see the radv developers "migrating" and submitting their patches directly to the AMD source.

Fantastic. I was hoping however to read that the pass was a "go-ahead" from their legal department or some other management to release code. Soon? Hopefully.

You're mistaking drivers I think; RADV is the mesa backed driver and all the code is already open and available. AMD has an in house vulkan driver that currently performs slightly better than RADV and I think that's the one you thought this article was about. They're still waiting for the greenlight to open source that one.

They need to get a lot done in that extra month. Apparently I was one of the first to give them a glowing bad "review". They really do need to get stuff together otherwise EA would have gone badly.

I bought this Pictek mouse (link. It has a nice array of DPI settings that you can change with a click of a button on top of the mouse so you don't need hardware. I've had it on Debian Testing, Solus, and Antergos with no problems. Don't know how high quality it is. I can make due with a $5 mouse for gaming.

Price seems about right. I paid about $60 usd for my Logitech MX510 about 13 years ago. Still using it to this day. Best $60 I have spent on a mouse. Though I have replaced the USB cable 4 times now, and replaced a switch, and repaired another switch. Man I love that mouse :D.

It really is amazing :D (though it is a bit sensitive to specks of dust)

EDIT: Oh, and the software is frakking perfect ;)

I can adjust volume, mute, play/pause, cycle up and down gnome desktops, bring out activities overview and push to talk on discord all with a single profile with my tyon!

I can vouch for the Roccat Tyon I have, but they also have cheaper and less featured mice although all with great sensors which is what matters such as the new Roccat Kone Pure with the Owl Eye sensor which has received great praise. Don't know about their support though(like this one with the owl eye) as the guy that worked on the linux drivers stopped doing so. As for cheaper options(hello Samsai!) chinese mice like the redragon m902 or the james donkey 325 have great reputation and use AVAGO sensors.

I have a Roccat Kiro. Although the reviews are mixed, it works fine for me. The mouse stores its settings internally and there is software to configure it on Linux.

My Logitech G502 Proteus Core's served me well for a few years now. I think it has some Windows-specific software or something, but I've never tried it, and never had any problems with using it on Linux.

I've got a naga (my second) and couldn't do without the numpad anymore. I play too much wow to stop using it.
Pro-tip Liam. Turn that light off. It generates heat and will make the palm of your hand sweat after long term use.

I have a Razer Naga for about 4 years now (I disagree on the MMO buttons being useless btw. - I couldn't imagine playing a MMO without them anymore, or really any game that needs the number keys). I never had any issues with the mouse, and I'd probably buy from Razer again. Btw. even on Windows you don't need their software if you can live with the buttons assigned to standard keys. The MMO buttons are liked to the 1-9,0,-,= keys, which in 99% of the time is what you want anyway.
