Not a game really in my strike zone, but I got a snicker out of the bit at the end of the trailer where it first says "The fate of humanity is in your hands!" and then "No pressure."

There is a connection with SW. There is some book character called Wade (and books are accidentally called Shadow Warrior). Make a quick search "Wade Shadow Warrior", and the phrase "made to" reminds me of something mentioned in SW1 in one of the fortune cookies, I need to look it up. Also, the symbol looks like one of the monsters with a helmet in the second game. At least I got such association right away. Overall, on associative scale, I'd vote for SW2.

Some thoughts on Hard West
By descender, 25 April 2017 at 4:09 pm UTC
Yeah I play very aggressively in all three games.
While Hard West has reaction shots, hit calculations are completely deterministic. By looking at the luck counters, I can estimate to a good degree of accuracy how much health each side will lose for a particular string of movements. This allows me to decide when to trade luck/health for a superior position and/or damage without fear of RNG failures. (Trading off one strategic/tactical resource for another is something I learn in chess e.g. material for initiative or position). My overall strategy is to close in and/or flank for crossfire and maximum damage. Mobility is key in this approach so my characters are equipped with weapons and cards that confer luck and movement.
For X-COM, I have 1 or 2 snipers to bleed or pin down enemy units while assault soldiers armed with shotguns close in for flanking or for reconnaissance in exposed areas. Ditto for Shadowrun where I have a fast-moving melee character buffed by magic and backed up by sniper fire.
By descender, 25 April 2017 at 4:09 pm UTC
Quoting: HamishI am sure that play style matters in this case - in Shadowrun I would fortify myself and lob grenades and the like from a safe vantage while in Hard West you have to keep moving and get as close to an enemy as possible before you can get a hit, which is often difficult due to the enemy reaction shots. You have to be a lot more aggressive and confident, not least because the luck system also favours the bold by penalizing you for missed shots while rewarding you for being fired upon.
I should also point out that I have never actually played X-COM.

Slightly disappointing considering it's bugfixes and localisation instead of new content.
The game is currently (mostly) managed by Chucklefish, Playism and Sickhead Games. Since Playism handled localisation and Sickhead Games handles porting to Playstation platforms, presumably Chucklefish is handling MP co-op, as they have already implemented that in Starbound.
Having said that, if the development process of Starbound (a game I bought in early access) is an indicator of anything, then we can expect the MP update to be somewhere before the end of this century.
Now here's an interesting post:

This is ridiculous. If people don't want to deal with trolls in public matches in *ANY* game, guess what? Team up with some other players and play in a group, or GTFO. Pub games in every game, ever, have always been filled with bad/troll players. When playing any team-based game, an organized team of moderately skilled players who are communicating and playing together will win the overwhelming majority of matches against a public random team, regardless of whether the pub team contains trolls, average players, or great players.
If you're playing a team game and not playing in an *organized* team, the fault is equally divided when you lose - you are just as much at fault as the guy who just ran circles in a corner shooting the wall, or the guy who fed the enemy carry, or the guy that teamkilled in spawn, or the guy who took the flag and just ran around the map instead of taking it back to base.
If you are not concerned enough about winning to put in the time and effort to play in an efficient, effective group environment, what gives you the right to criticize your teammates for not playing as well as an organized group teammate?
Please note that I realize YES, it's extremely annoying, and I'm not valuating that kind of behavior... merely commenting on the skewed perspective of the argument that it is only the troll/bad player's fault when you don't win.

First of all, the first time i played UniBall was 2003. They released the first version 1999. I wouldn't say that UB is "easier" than Rocket League. I would even go so far and would say that it is harder (depends on the Map/Game Mode).
UB is a game that definitely deserves more Players and I would be glad to play with everyone how is willing to give this game a shot. Just add me on Steam and I will learn you as much as I know.

Maybe we should standardize gaming to chroot/LXC/docker with a specific distro. I like my main distro to be secure, and in between stable and bleeding edge, but for gaming I don't really care as long as it works. I will for sure not do any symlinking override systemwide. If I want symlink override I rather do it on a per game basis and use shellscript for launch if needed.

Because it's completely arbitrary. By this we could think of more then 100 other games. Shadow Warrior don't solve the riddle anyway. There is no strong connection to "MADE TO WADE" or to 茶 - chá.
The fact that Feral has never ported a game for this publisher does not make it more likely. If we use your "could-be" approach we get dozens of games that would fit. So we could guess as well. Why Shadow Warrior 2 and not Hard Reset Redux for example?
By 0aTT, 25 April 2017 at 12:14 pm UTC
Quoting: ShmerlQuoting: 0aTTQuoting: ShmerlI don't understand why people think so. It makes absolute no sense, because it is nearly impossible that Feral would port this game. This developer and publisher already ported the first part to Linux. How likely is it that Feral now makes the port for the second part? Very unlikely.Quoting: Teal1500A lot of people think its shadow warrior 2.
I really hope it is. How long does it usually take for Feral to move the game from "soon" to "very soon" and etc.?
How do you know if it's likely or not? Flying Wild Hog used external developers to port Shadow Warrior (Aaron Melcher and initially Edward Rudd). Then supposedly Leszek Godlewski who used to port various games was working for them, but then he announced that he isn't working on Linux games anymore. We have no direct information that FWH have any Linux developers in-house (unless you've seen otherwise?). So why can't they hire Feral to do it?

Dawn of War III would be possible. But how the logo is connected to Macha and how Macha is connected to Dawn of War and how this is connected to the song?
By 0aTT, 25 April 2017 at 11:59 am UTC
Quoting: thed4rkn1teI'm an idiot. If the logo stands for Macha (goddess of war) and "made to wade" comes from lyrics of Crass - Major General Despair (as Feral have used slightly obscure songs before) then a logical solution is Dawn of War III. This would also be levering an existing relationship with developers Relic Entertainment (Dawn of War 2, Company of Heroes 2) and publisher Sega (Total War series)

Debian stable has more bugs then testing at the moment, because it's in freeze. Fixes don't get in automatically at the moment.
Debian stable is all fine for my gaming rig. I'm sometimes mixing in newer packages from testing, unstable or even experimental (nvidia drivers), and it works all fine.
