Wednesday Madness, a quick look at some good Linux gaming deals
By razing32, 20 April 2017 at 7:29 pm UTC
It's a short game.
And it does the typical zombie game tropes . Standard ,armored , heavy , fast.
Pistol , shotgun , machine gun.
The train aspect is bland and lifeless.
Story is ok-ish.
Atmosphere and art is great.
If you check the amount of time I played it on steam , that is an entire playthrough (sans achievements - I really couldn;t be bothered)

Quoting: EhvisI noticed The Final Station at 67% off. Would that be worth it?

Netmarket Share statics is doesn't mean anything. They're all looking to Steam Survey and that is right thing to do. Not every user play games on Mac and Linux also even Windows.

I was gonna mention every person having a different opinion on a game but if the issues are around bugs and controls that's pretty much less opinion and more objective issue.
Good to know.

Yeah, now that I think about it, not launching was an earlier issue. Last time I installed it was like you say. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with how most games work with mesa, so I'm not bothering with amdgpu-pro either, at least for now.

Quoting: jsa1983Quoting: Al3sDoes it even work with mesa? Last time I installed it, it didn't even launch
It does launch but renders a black screen (intro video music playing and so on, just black screen). It's a pity. It's probably the only game I miss from the time I used fglrx just after I bought my old HD7870.
Sadly, I can't play this game right now with mesa (not going to bother installing amdgpu-pro).

Fiddly controls, camera issues, bad interface, unpolished, multiple bugs... To quote Destructoid:
"I can't remember the last time I had to go to a game's forum to get a bug resolved just so I could advance. It's a lesson in wonderful concept and poor execution."

I don't think they have done that recently. Not for exactly the same game anyway. The iOS stuff is different in many ways.

Yeah, this is a great constructor game, but I agree - it's a hard game to "get into", because of weird menu options and lacklustre plot.
Even stranger - I prefer Reassembly, which has no plot to speak of at all, but focuses purely on the creation of bigger and more aggressive ships and fleet.
I still spent a fair bit of time playing this though. It's really good and great to see free content for it.

Cross platform multiplayer is my most wanted feature. I really love Civ 6, so do my (Windows) friends. Although it is the right decision, I hope it is ready soon.

Thankyou for that info. I like CIV VI on linux. I think this is the correct decision from the developers/porters. But I'am a bit sad too.
Hopefully the compatibility will land for one of the next patches. At least in this year.
Although this game is fun. Maybe you and samsai will nuke the enemys in your next game. with the new Team funktionality. :-)

It seems like they aren't paying much attention to their radar. This is the first I've seen them release a game and not show it on the radar. They still have F1 as "out now for MAC" even though they just released Total War Warhammer for MAC. Unless they want to push F1 more than Warhammer. Maybe Warhammer is selling really well and F1 isn't?
Warhammer was already released for Linux but I believe they've listed games on the radar that they already released for another platform. I think they did this for Life is Strange when it was released for MAC and delayed for Linux, then released for Linux. I believe they did it with Rome: Total War between MAC and IOS

I'm redownloading it as I write. Will try to join random players and check if it works. Four of us were able to play and successfully finish both the main campaign and The Following though it required a special connection order, Linux player first, the Windows ones (two others) after him. Otherwise the Linux player was disconnected right after connecting. Another Linux player couldn't connect at all, no matter what we tried, so that's one hell of an elusive bug. Too bad we're likely not going to replay it again any time soon.
The game itself is great in almost all aspects, it's a unique zombie-parkour game with some great and alive characters including those from side quests. Like Tolga and Fatim, though they're kinda love/hate guys, we adored them. Also, bad guys here are so damn charismatic. Zombie shooters are often considered blood&gore games with poor, almost non-existent story and bland characters. I can say for sure DL has better story and characters than many other games. And for a zombie-game it's top notch, go get it.
