This !
I have been waiting for this fix. Now Just to wait for Verdun , Guns of Icarus and Rust to update.
Verdun played nice on my Linux Mint 15 on high resolution. Update 150 (Unity 4.5) screwed up the whole game. Mouse is difficult to control or not at all. Motion is choppy etc. Not playable at all anymore :((

"two guys for month" is actually less than I expected, because I'd put out the guess it was less than half a year. If they manage to get 50k out of it, they should have made profit. And I'd guess - almost everyone gaming in linux bought this title(s) in the steam sale.

Magicka on Linux ! We want Magicka on Linux ! And Majesty 2 !
In fact, it seems to me I would like to see almost every Paradox game I own on Linux. But who knows.. it seems we are getting a lot of surprises with them. Crusader Kings 2 was the nicest one for me, as I bought it before knowing it was coming to Linux. Then Europa Universalis 4. And the Cities in Motion series (don't have them, but on my wishlist), and now Warband.. it would be really great.

After thinking about these wrappers and how useless they are, I've retracted that opinion and I have to say that they're much more important because of what developers are used to, especially with legacy BS from Windows.

It's going to take time until devs begin making actual native games, because now they have good reason to do so, especially when there's SteamOS coming out. Current gen games are GOING to be wrappers, don't expect too much for the time being as Windows STILL has that monopoly on the desktop, mostly because of businesses and work related stuff. As long as games still run on x86 processors and Windows, enthusiasts/gamers will still run Windows.

Yes.

Quoting: GNUzelI've been meaning to ask them where I can donate

I rather still need someone with OpenGL knowledge to donate their time and experience to the project, not money.

EDIT: Thanks for the offer, though.

Quoting: GNUzelTurns out the problem was that I had UberSampling, unbeknownst to me, enabled, causing my frame drops.
That's a common mistake. Actually if you'd play it in Wine, you'd see that the "ubersampling" setting is highlighted in red (to indicate that it's extremely demanding). It's recommended never to use it because it always kills performance (on Windows the same way) since it's a very wasteful brute force antialiasing. Some even argued that such misleading setting should never had been included in the first place.

May be in the Linux version that option wasn't highlighted, and many simply don't pay attention.

When I first ran it, I just clicked on the "Ultra" spec preset because 100% of the rest of the time, my computer could handle it but little did I know about UberSampling in The Witcher 2, so when I went to the "Advanced" options I saw UberSampling in red. Disabled it, ran the game with everything enabled- ran fine. Looked up UberSampling and saw almost all video cards, including 680 SLIs can't run it which made me feel better because my 690 was a beast of a card and I believe it still is. I don't think Linux uses the whole card though.

Quoting: FutureSutureIt would be amazing if Linux not only received the same games that Mac OS receives from now on, but all past games as well. I would certainly buy them. People may argue that it hasn't helped Mac OS attain more market share, but that is really because of the financial barrier and the hardware barrier that Apple imposes, aspects that Linux fortunately does not suffer from.

+1 !!!!

Retro Tex Murphy Adventure Games Come To Steam For Linux
By FrasierCrane, 13 June 2014 at 9:38 pm UTC Likes: 1

Regarding the new Tex Murphy game, Tesla Effect, for Linux:
Big Finish Games stated that they will make a Linux version available as soon as they get a Linux port of the RAD Video codec they are using, which most likely will be this summer (as said by a programmer on the launch live stream).
Here is a recent quote from Cubase, one of the developers, on Kickstarter:
QuoteProgress on the Linux version is all up to our 3rd Party Developers. We technically have the ability to release the Linux version without issues, however, RAD Video Tools who make the video codec we use is still working on getting a version working with Linux. Once they are done, we will be done shortly afterwards and get all you Penguins sorted!

I think it's great that they are still determined to get a Linux version out as soon as possible although it wasn't a Kickstarter stretch-goal (so it's not just to please those pesky backers :P).
It's also quite cool that the count for Tex Murphy games on Linux went from 0/6 to 5/6 in almost an instant.
