IIRC, the price is due to it being the beta. It'll go down with a proper release.

Quoting: jdubEh, it's a good way to try before you buy...since most devs don't provide a demo. As long as you do buy the game it's ok in my eyes. All those cheaper than food games add up

That is actually a good point. If there is one thing I miss from my Xbox 360 days is the fact that demos were quite plentiful there.

Humongous Entertainment Release 28 Casual Adventure Games For Linux On Steam
By Cheeseness, 18 April 2014 at 5:34 am UTC

Oh sweet. The press release I read yesterday didn't say anything about Linux. To clarify a bit, only six have gone up today. The rest of the 28 will be released in batches over the coming month or two (dates here.

We've done a couple of the Pajama Sam games for Game Club and have plans to do more Humongous titles to celebrate the Steam releases.

People are more than welcome to join us. We had Dave Grossman for PJ Sam 3 and hopefully will be able to wrangle him and/or other guests again.

Edit: Oh, and according to the manual, they're shipping games with ScummVM.

ReignMaker, A City Building Political Strategy Game With Match-3 Tower Defense Combat
By Speedster, 18 April 2014 at 3:59 am UTC

Yeah I really like the added tactical dimension of picking out different spells/troops/gear for different boards, and strategy of deciding when to use them while still keeping the matches going to kill enemies and re-power the spells.

Star Citizen Space Combat & Trading Sim Will Come To Linux, Chris Roberts States At PAX
By , 17 April 2014 at 9:57 pm UTC

I paid $1250 for Star Citizen. I will NEVER load the game on any platform except Linux. I want to send a message. I will pay top dollar, and only top dollar for Linux AAA tier space simulator gaming. I own Windows and Macintosh platforms as well, but Linux is the only system I want to game on. This news makes me so happy. I'm a massive fan of Wing Commander. I own every Wing Commander game and when Chris announced Star Citizen. I threw money into it. It's great to see loyalty as a fan rewarded with loyalty from the developer. I look forward to seeing the final game. I've basically been waiting 13 years for this.

Humongous Entertainment Release 28 Casual Adventure Games For Linux On Steam
By FrasierCrane, 17 April 2014 at 9:52 pm UTC

Well, Humongous Entertainment was founded by Ron Gilbert (of Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island fame), but I've never played one of this games and I also doubt they are up there with the great 90s adventures.

I remember reading a review of (the first?) one of these from a gaming mag in the early 90s. The seemed to think it was up there with the Monkey Islands and the rest of the best adventure games of the golden age.

Mojang Offer No Hints As To When Scrolls Will Get The Promised Linux Release
By Dread Knight, 17 April 2014 at 5:55 pm UTC

Well, for who is interested in turn based strategies and card games, I'm making a free open source one playable right from the browser based on Heroes of Might and Magic 3's combat system, but improved. Check out AncientBeast.com - it has some show stopping bugs atm and I don't have a budget for it, but it's constantly improving none the less.
