This games good enough to play them, not only for buy them. (Have both on Steam and HB)
Personally I'd like Trine 2 rather than Trine.

SteamLUG June Linux Gaming Events
By Cheeseness, 3 June 2014 at 12:52 am UTC
No worries! It'll be good to have you around again ^_^
Ah, well spotted. One of the downsides of Steam not allowing event times to be entered in UTC is that I have to use local dates (Australia is of course ahead of UTC) when creating them. In this case, I forgot to change them back to UTC :D

Quoting: Half-ShotAplogies for not making recent events, I've been scattered all over the place recently. Shall be coming to the next events as much as possible though,

Quoting: FutureSutureUnless you do things differently in Australia, your dates are all wrong. The dates are all 1 day after their respective days.

This reminds me of Jedi Outcast.
The graphics look great, and hopefully the gameplay is equally awesome. Gonna give this a download later and try it out.

Quoting: liamdaweUnvanquished sure is one of the prettiest open source games around isn't it?Quite right. This makes me wonder why Phoronix hasn't added the game to the Phoronix Test Suite for benchmarking. Is it because the game constantly changes and therefore wouldn't provide a stable means for benchmarking?

Quoting: pbI am like that too! Deep Silver bringing Metro 2033 satisfies me greatly, much like what Frozenbyte is doing here. There is money to be made, but I always feel the developers and publishers here care about uniformity as well and that I admire.Quoting: FutureSutureI have no idea myself. Haven't bought Trine or Trine 2 yet. Ever since I found out that a new Linux client for Trine was being made, I held off from buying either game so that I could play them in chronological order. Considering that this new Linux client should launch fairly soon, why not just play other games until then?Yeah, I'll probably do that - just wondering. I like to play the series in order they were made, that's why I was holding back on Trine 2 or Metro:LL. But I can imagine that for some games it doesn't matter much, like Crusader Kings II or Left 4 Dead 2 (or does it? ;-).

Quoting: pbI have both Trine and Trine 2, but I haven't played either of them so far - should I play them in chronological order (i.e. keep waiting for #1 to get to Steam) or it doesn't matter?I've played a bit of Trine and 6 hours of Trine 2 and I think you can play Trine 2 just nicely without touching Trine. Of course playing Trine first helps you understand some things like what the Trine actually is and stuff like that, but Trine 2 is enjoyable on its own too.

Major Steam Client Beta Update, In-Home Streaming Available To All
By oldrocker99, 2 June 2014 at 5:58 pm UTC
Yup, Steam sez:"Streaming from a Linux host is not yet supported."
Patience, patience.
By oldrocker99, 2 June 2014 at 5:58 pm UTC
Quoting: HadBabitsIt should also be noted that you currently can only stream from Windows and Mac boxes. Linux hosts have been disabled currently with the intention of fixing some bugs; unfortunately meaning that those only possessing Linux boxes, including myself, are currently out of luck :P

The Linux version of Metro LL was ported from the Mac version. And Macs were still on OpenGL 3.x at that time. This year they finally arrived in 2010 with OpenGL 4.0 and right now I think they are on 4.1 so maybe they will make it into 2014 end of the year or something ^^
Anyways there are reasons why the new and polished Metro Redux versions are only on Windows and Linux.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/286690/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1
So I don't think there will be missing effects or anything this time.
The trailer looks really nice and I bet the graphics will be awesome. Homefront was pretty linear and had a lot of scripted events, I hope they will change that a bit. The description sounds good so far.
Edit: btw will it have a day 1 Linux version or will it be like Tropico ? :/
By killx_den, 2 June 2014 at 5:57 pm UTC
Quoting: Half-ShotGood news but hopefully the game will be as fully featured as the other platforms. Metro: Last Light didn't quite hit it but hopefully if it comes out at the same time there is no need to worry.

There are quite a number of tutorial videos available online, that should get everyone up to speed.
I really like dynamic playfield boardgames and Hive looks very interesting. But as you stated, the implementation lacks some polish.
And playing boardgames on a computer or other gaming gear is lots of fun, especially when it comes to games with complex rulesets which the ai is going to handle for you. I recommend Carcassonne (playable online in a Java enabled browser, e.g. at http://brettspielwelt.de/Spiele/Carcassonne/?nation=en ) and there are several different games of Settlers of Catan available for Linux as well.
