The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition Released For SteamOS Linux

Works fine for me, running in high settings (haven't tried ultra and don't really care) on a four-year-old system using a current mid-range graphics card. Had one crash that wasn't repeated when I replayed the same area, that's it.
I don't give a damn if it's a native port or a wrapper or whatever, so long as it works and as far as I can see it works. So I'm perfectly happy with it. To be honest, I've had a lot more problems getting stuff like Secrets of Raetikon or even Kentucky Route Zero to run well under Linux than this game.

Indeed. I've been subscribed the github repo for a while now, and instead of calming down, as you would expect in the lead up to a big release, it seems to be accelerating!
Just look at the commits graph from March onwards: https://github.com/SupSuper/OpenXcom/graphs/commit-activity

I was rather suprised how well it worked on my system.
i don't have a really powerfull system atm so I suspected that I would have real problems running it even in the lowest setting.
I could just be lucky though. :D

I don't own either game but I would much rather pay full price for these games than buy them at 80% off and get a crappy, crappy port like with The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

Quoting: SabunIf they do end up releasing a port, and it's well done (actually professional, and not a money grab), they may have my respect and money then. Time will tell though.I don't care whether it's a brand new game or not as long as it makes its way to Linux in a native state and works like it should. I would much rather pay full price for The Witcher 2 than have a 4$ discount and a crappy, crappy port. As the fiasco with The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings indicates, I would much rather pay full price than buy it at 80% off and get a crappy, crappy port.
I'm really only likely to buy it once it's on sale now though (that feeling of brand new is gone since they took so long).

Of course you didn't feel the need, you know the game :P
(I admit I haven't followed the game so I didn't even know it's a RTS with basic mechanics)

Quoting: liamdaweI would have if I felt it was needed, but it's just an RTS game with quite basic mechanics too. You build buildings, then units, then fight.

May I suggest to park the mouse pointer on items with tooltips more often in the gameplay video or/and to to add captions to explain what is happening in the game? Considering that there is no commentary I gave up looking at the video after few minutes since I had no idea what you where doing. Thanks!

Had no more crash problems on Metro since nvidia 33x series... did an entire playthrough on Ranger mode, seems like I'm lucky.
I first finished the game with the crashes at the time, though.

It should be native. The point of the graphics cards is that nvidia and amd won't support their older cards with better drivers on Linux. So older graphics cards will run better in Windows unfortunately. On the other hand they had to start somewhere right?
I preordered the bundle btw :>
I hope the games wont crash as much as the Metro LL Linux port :/

ordered 6 months when i saw it on reddit because it looks awesome
postage to Australia doubled the price and im still waiting for mays one(hopefully this week coming up! has to be close) its costly and quite a gamble with the products being a surprise and i wish they would include steam keys(from what i hear they are looking into that?) but it looks like its a nice product and aslong as they continue to support linux i really don't mind paying up
