The legendary average user will take his steambox as a console and won't bother/know to ditch OSes. More important factor will be the steamboxes that will come preinstalled with windows.

Another metric might be to look at Linux Steam users as a whole number over time versus a percentage. The factors that drive total Steam usage changes might not be the same factors that drive Linux usage changes.

For example the rise in popularity of a steam exclusive like DOTA2 in Asian countries where WinXP is extremely popular (and Linux is not) would tilt things one way. On the other hand, something like the TF2 Linux release (with the Tux drops) pushed Linux usage waaaaay up, and that wasn't really an accurate representation of long term usage (or, people were cheating).

That said, I wouldn't bother trying to read to much into those numbers. Linux has been trending down for a while now, but who knows why. I can't explain the trend, but I have a theory for this month.

Now that Spring has arrived in the Northern hemisphere, Linux users (well known for their love of the outdoors) have switched off their PCs, and are out enjoying the warmer weather, the sunshine on their faces and the pollen in their paranasal sinuses.

its suppose to be based off of the ultimate overhead view space station 13. Which that game is epic. Wasn't much to look at, but omg it was the ultimate troll playground. Anyway...the developer responded to a post to why it doesn't run on Linux or Mac yet, saying that they haven't even compiled it for those two Operating Systems. I guess we have to wait.

Honestly, this game almost made me cry multiple times. I've been suffering from depression for almost 3 years, and this very accurately described my typical every day life of recent. I'd say the stage I'm at currently is likely level "2", second to suicidal/lifeless. My boyfriend showed me this game, although I think he needs to play it himself so he understands what I go through. It's really depressing that he doesn't want to because "it's boring". *sighs*

Previously I had stated I was getting an error/warning starting up Steam, I got an update and after reboot I no longer receive the error, I am trying Linux gaming again but I am using Play on Linux for windows games, I will try to keep this post updated.

Steam community 've been waiting for controller support for almost a year now, and it was one of the selling points of the first game for me.

that framerate in the video... doesnt really make me want to buy it.
and another early access title... i guess we have too many of those already.
not enough features yet to be even early access imo... but thats just my opinion..

I funded it on Kickstarter about a year ago, and have been waiting. I am patient, and think and hope that Wasteland 2, when it arrives, will be as professional a game as can be imagined.

We try not to schedule more than one TF2 event a month in our primary weekend slots. The servers are always open though and people are more than welcome to use them (and our Mumble Server).

Down the track we may look at doing something more regular outside of our normal schedule, but that's likely to take a while to get together unless we get more people interested in helping out with event coordination.
