game works well, as for a desktop launcher, it needs to be the same commands as you would run it from the terminal I suppose.

Quoting: LinasI participated in a few of those. Friendly atmosphere, lots of fun, even if a bit chaotic at times. Also do not worry if you have never tried the game before. You will probably be not the only one. Highly recommended.
Glad to hear such a positive recommendation! Thanks :D

Quoting: DannyWawww... no Serious Sam: BFE co-op? ;)
We did that in March. I'm certain we'll come back for more Serious Sam: BFE in the future :)

Our servers are always open for people to use, though. You may be able to find others who're keen on a game in the SteamLUG IRC channel.

Quoting: liamdaweI would join in the TF2 event, but sadly it's one of the few times someone comes over to visit!

We've been talking about having regular Guns of Icarus Online events outside our usual schedule. If that goes well, we may branch out and do that for our other more popular games like TF2. Fingers crossed ^_^

Everyone's doing the same 'screen interference' title effect in their trailers, it's getting really tiring.

Now Valve have announced they will used Linux as a base for their new console, we love Linux! Just forget about UT3 and that mess, we had no idea it could be good.

But really, good news I guess.

I expected a delay for the Linux version, it's a small team. That said they are very talented & I'm sure they will deliver in the end.

They made almost 20k in the first 24 hours, so if they can keep that up & drum up awareness they might reach their goal. The Wii U version might actually pull in a large chunk of funding since Wii U has so few third party games coming & Renegade Kid have a good name with Nintendo fans. Here is to hoping.

The zany Frog Fractions 2 project has posted a free flash game called Kickstarter Simulator 2015
http://twinbeard.com/kickstarter-simulator-2015

I haven't played it yet since this browser doesn't do flash, but it sounds like a good companion to that off-the-wall campaign (as one of my fellow FC teammates said about the pitch video, "what did I just watch?!?")

Ah, another game promoting the mass media Holstein hegemony...

Sorry, but I always look through these things with an aim to laugh, so do not take it personally. I guess it is because of all the "existential freedom" I am enjoying out here.

I do appreciate the fact that they say your animals will die if you ignore them though.

Finally, some realism...

Quoting: neffoIMO this is how old games should be ported, ie not at all - just bottled. The outcome is the same for us gamers. Save the programmers from digging through ancient code, and get them to work on porting new games.

They should be ported - but as source ports by the community, whenever possible.

And I can say for a fact that not all old games will work in WINE, and some of them probably never will.

No way am I funding something that can let me play as a female and have same-sex relationships if it's not a sure thing. Because honestly that's something I look for in RPGs, characters I can relate to as a queer female and the idea that I'll only get that, one of the core requirements for me as a player, if they more than double their funding is an incredible turn-off.

And to be honest, in this day and age where a lot of females are playing the idea that you don't get a female option right out of the gate seems antiquated and frankly out of touch.

Valve's Free to Play Movie Now On Linux
By , 3 April 2014 at 2:37 pm UTC

Oh noes, if you call something "Free to play" it must be about every free to play game ever released?

As I understand, this movie is about the competitive side of Dota 2, actually about one of the million-dollar tournaments called The International Valve put together and a team's journey there. I hear it's good.

My favourite eSports doc so far is State of Play, it helps that I love to watch Starcraft. Definitely checking this one out as well though. Wouldn't it be cool if a player/team got sponsored by someone desktop Linux-related and would only practice using Linux. :P

I see the point of asking for more money for both genders. First each gender has different parameters that define how they interact with people. Unless you treat every character in the game as unisex you have to define what each gender can do with each gender. Obviously if you want to play as a girl you can't go and hook up with another girl and get her pregnant. That isn't possible. By adding another gender you basically have to double your interactions code. It would have been wise to do it in the first place but an after the fact thing requires more time and money.
