That stretch goal also promises gay marriages, so I guess they're really after that pink dollar ;p
I understand these things are extra work, but that is quite a price tag. If they promised it from the start it could generate a fair amount of support from the ladies and gaymers, and lady gaymers ;)

I agree that charging the interested players to be able to play as girls is a wrong way to fund up.
They should raise a little the initial budget and produce both genders.

I participated in a few of those. Friendly atmosphere, lots of fun, even if a bit chaotic at times. Also do not worry if you have never tried the game before. You will probably be not the only one. Highly recommended.

The audio is crackling for me, like in many other Wine games, and the loading times, the delay for the pause menu and loading/saving are several minutes and I'm on a 4GHz Intel i7 with 48GB RAM, a GeForce GTX 660 Ti and running the game from a striped SSD array - there's clearly something wrong with the Wine layer.

So the setting is very much in line with the Penumbra games, sifting through desolated ruins and remains; no other people in sight.
While I am still looking forward to that, I'm also still wishing it would have gone in a different direction. More like the live-action teasers, a cyberpunk-is/noir-ish FMV game. And with people you interact with.

As someone who's with ScummVM, I very much disagree with you there, neffo.
Old games you be properly ported, even to the point of them being able to run on non-x86 architectures, sometime which Wine can't do.

There really is no reason this game needs to be ported to Linux over just running in it Wine. Forget the nonsense. It works perfect in Wine. On any modern version of Windows it runs on a functionally similar translation layer to that which Wine creates (WoW).
IMO this is how old games should be ported, ie not at all - just bottled. The outcome is the same for us gamers. Save the programmers from digging through ancient code, and get them to work on porting new games.

I would be interesting in the F2P business model and how it worked out for Valve but this is all about DOTA 2...
