I do wish people would stop saying ~PC~ when they actually mean ~Windows~.
Hey devs, I'm using a ~PC~, it just has ~Linux~ on it.
*grumble grumble*

Also very annoying that we have to run after the developers to actually tell us what happens, at least us non-backers. Apparently, the information was inside a backer update, but why make that a backer-exclusive information and not tell anyone else? :/

Here, here bones. Good to see a voice of reason amongst the drivel.
No doubt Spock would deem the selling to Bookface as a logical choice, yet as we proved to him in countless episodes, logic does not always dictate the greater outcome.
I can see great harm coming to the ability of any such future endeavours of this sort on kickstarter.

I'm really enjoying this news ! Finally some good Linux native FPS games !
Since Quake Live is no more "native" (you have to run it through wine) and it's like ten years old... I'm willing something new ! :)
This game might be really fun !

Quoting: philip550cHa, M$ has been restricting their XBox platforms to use DX/D3D for quite some time now (like all of them), which is why a lot of developers used DX to start off with - they wanted to go on XBoxes. M$ obviously did this to try and lock people into their own proprietary rendering engine with D3D as opposed to OpenGL (and similarly DX vs SDL).Quoting: ....some one needs to make a OpenGL>DX for Xbone so developers can no longer fear not being able to develop for XboneDoes the Xbone not support opengl?

Don't bite the hand that feeds. They may not have a native Linux editor, but we sure as hell wouldn't have the library of games we have now if not for Unity3D. Give them time. If CryEngine and Unreal decide to bring their editors to linux natively (and not an empty promise), then I'm sure the folks at Unity3D will feel the pressure and do the same.

QuoteGetting tired of Unity and their engine crap. It's not the fault of Unity3D! I've personally used Unity, and besides a few differences in how it handles textures between the OS's, it really is just click to Export. These developers are the ones waiting till the last minute to click that button and then do QA for Linux.

Quoting: GuestIncredipede works fine in Firefox. It’s pretty and original, but possibly tedious.Defender's Quest is in Adobe Air. Archwiki explains how to run such programs on Arch Linux here. Basically, install adobe-air-sdk, and run
Defender’s Quest does not start.
Offspring Fling tried to use a non-existant « sensible-browser » command, but you can just open the swf in Firefox… It works but the keys cannot be remapped which is not ideal. Also it looks bad.
Neo Scavenger works… but it changes parts of my desktop background on other workspaces and also some parts of Offspring Fling (if I run the two games at the same time on different workspaces).
Anodyne wants to install Adobe AIR in /opt… not sure I want that.
No problem with Magical Diary and Planet Stronghold (ren'py games).
(Arch Linux 64 bit, nvidia blob)
/opt/adobe-air-sdk/bin/adl -nodebug Air-app-directory/META-INF/AIR/application.xml Air-app-directory/

No Linux demo for Moebius here, and the Moebius website now only says:
And that despite the Moebius kickstarter campaign passing the $400,000 Linux stretch goal.
Combine that with the GK1 remake kerfuffle, and I'm angry.

Divinity: Original Sin is currently on early access on Steam, Windows-only. In a Kickstarter update a few months ago, they said they're working on the Mac version; it'll be up soon. And now they said, Linux will come right after that, which should be also relatively soon, hopefully.
