It certainly looks good! I hope it's fun to play as well and that the developers do a good job bringing it over to Linux! Remember, don't buy the title until the game is actually available for Linux.

Quoting: Lapinoplwell i got it running on Manjaro with one problem (missing lib at first, easy fix) And I did actually used that .deb file (not a problem with dpkg installed, but might be a problem for beginners). Time to see what this baby can do:)
can you install .deb files in manjaro? i'm using it too but never heard of installing deb files in it, how do you do that? also which libraries were missing?

Yeah I am using it on manjaro atm and seems fine.
Install dpkg with yaourt, then use it to install the gamedevelop deb file.
After you are done, run gamedevelop from terminal. It will tell you which libraries are missing. You might need to create a symbolic link if you already have a library, but it's named differently.

Could you try launch a terminal, go to the game directory (cd /the/path/to/the/dir), launch the GameLinux script (./GameLinux) and send me the errors displayed to [email protected]? :)
It should help me to identify the problem.

You just need to install dpkg from AUR , tho it's not recommend, or just open .deb as a archive,:) As to which lib was missing... I honestly don't remember:/

Boycote. Make opinion heard. At the end of day we are paying money, not devs.

I am pretty sure they did not use the UDK but had a full on engine license with source code access.

The problem with this is that the UDK doesn't give source code access(unlike the new UE4 subscriptions) and doesn't have any Linux support. I just don't see how they could create a true port. Can you really ever truly port something without source code access?

QuoteSadly It seems to be an ever-more frequent occuring issue for us Linux gamers, hitting stretch goals required of us, voting our support for developers on greenlight and versions being delayed or never appearing.
I Agree with this, it seems that this is happening more often. So Much devs promise Linux support for extra votes/stretch goal, but an Linux port never comes. and when you asked how the linux port is doing, they not respond or they have an another excuse to not port the game after all :(.

Part of that is probably our fault. Y U NO SUPPORT TEH LINUX!, we shout angrily. Then, as damage limitation, as the rumble grows, they look into it and think Linux support = more pledges. But they're not invested in Linux as a platform.

Still, a promise is a promise. Kickstarter needs to think about some kind of tracking and accountability for these promises. If a studio announces Linux support (or generally "makes a promise" ) that they then fail to deliver, then that studio should have their account suspended by Kickstarter thereafter.

But Kickstarter aren't interested in cutting off their own revenue stream, so this kind of stuff keeps happening.

Even if I like that 11 bit support Linux, their support generally isn´t that good. Anomaly Warzone earth and Anomaly 2 are good examples of this.

Facebook Buys Oculus VR, The Internet Freaks Out

Quoting: ruediixHonestly, if they wanted to do a tech-bubble era sell-out, they should have gone with Google.

Google would have probably paid more, and given them full creative license. Not to mention that even if Google has lost their indie cred, they still have a fair amount of tech cred.

Google probably wasn't going to offer nearly as much, because Google already has in-house talent for doing VR stuff. I assume that's why they went with Facebook for the acquisition :(
